Broadband Options in Dun Laoghaire

    Hi everyone,

The information in this section of boards.ie is incredibly useful. However, my head is spinning with the different options available to choose from... let alone the potential hidden charges of dealing with different providers.

Long and short of things, I have UPC (which is excellent) at my current address, but will be moving to Carriglea Downs in Dun Laoghaire next month. Unfortunately, UPC broadband isn't available in that area :(

Thanks to the boards.ie crowd-surfing map for the eircom eFibre rollout it looks like this could be an option. My house will be about 650 meters away from a cabinet.

Is anyone from the Dun Laoghaire (Carriglea Downs area even) able to comment on the broadband provider they have had experiences with?

Is eFibre really a decent alternative to UPC Fibre Power 120Mb broadband?

Also, is it advisable to go with Eircom or to use a Eircom Wholesale Reseller (e.g. Vodafone, UTV, Perlico, Smart, Digiweb, TalkTalk)?

Any advice or help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

Vodafone is the same as eFibre but slightly cheaper. Only difference is eircom offer a tv addon.
