    Hi there,

I am wondering if anyone knows a place I can take my Macbook pro early 11 to install a new wifi card so I can use the new continuity features on Yosemite. I have the BCM card but have no clue about the kext required to complete after the hardware install.

I have upgraded a few bits before, RAM, SSD etc but after that I'm a bit lost. From what i can see it is very possible but afraid to I'll get lost in code............

Tried a couple of places but they were lost over the phone!

    Thanks

Are you sure you need a new wifi card? I think I read that Continuity worked on all Macs in the last six or seven years.

Also you'd be best waiting for Yosemite to ship because Apple's code may change.

I believe that you need BT 4.0 for it to work & early 11's dont have 4.0/LE? I will probably wait until the final release to see what will work but from what I see so far with various beta's is, I wont have it.............

It was an option on beta 1 but has since disappeared from the Settings menu!

It's just Handoff that requires BT LE. Everything else (calls, texts, etc) should work fine over WiFi.
