A young woman I know told me that the human anus is clean and has less germs than your mouth or hands? How is this?

All three - hands, mouth and anus - are going to be harbouring millions of bacteria, but for the most part they'll be pretty harmless as long as they don't get into your bloodstream or intestines.

Just employ basic hygiene measures - brush your teeth, wipe your backside and wash your hands - and you will have nothing to fear from any of these germs.
