Anyone doing Giro de Baile (Ballycastle sportive)?

This is on Aug 3rd up in north Mayo - pretty amazing coastal views if the route goes along there. There's a 10, a 60 and a 130km.

Thinking about giving the 130 a go, enjoyed the Westportif last week.

Anyone else considering it?

Edit: anyone know what the routes are?

I'm hoping to do the 60km - I'm not a serious cyclist but I did the Leinster Loop 50km last year and enjoyed it and I'll be in the area anyway on the bank holiday! It's very scenic along the coast there.

Looking forward to this again on Sunday. I think the weather will be a bit better than last year - not perfect, but not quite as wintry.

The folks I'm with are doing the 60. If there was a 90-100k route I think I could sell that, but the 130 is too much of a stretch. Next year! (This is verbatim what I said last year).

Hi Trojan i am one of the Organizers of the event and as its the Irish Summer i cannot guarantee good weather

Heads-up for anyone around Mayo/Sligo for the August bank holiday weekend - the Giro de Baile is on along the north Mayo coast on Sun 31st July 2016.

It's a spectacular route and the organisers (no affiliation) go all out with samba bands, DJs, historical re-enactors (Humbert's troops) etc.

Last year they even had names painted on the roads on the first big climb, that was awesome.

Well worth a look.

Another here for doing the Giro de Baile. It's looking to be a great day on Sunday which makes this cycle even better. The community involvement along the route is great to experience. And there's definitely loads of encouragement. 60k 146k this year.
