apart from Resogun, Outlast, Dead Nation, Trine 2 and Strider, the ps4 games have been fairly terrible. Would really like to see Child Of Light,Transister and Abe's Oddysee added at some point! holding off on buying those 3 titles for the moment waiitng for them to appear on Ps+. PS+ is still well worth it tho for the few good games added every few months.

You named about half of the PS4 PS+ games there that you like, so you have a one in two ratio of happiness with your PS+ games. Not bad I say.

I don't think it's fair to call Towerfall, Don't Starve, Stick it to the Man or Pixeljunk Shooter 'terrible'. They might not be to your individual tastes, but they are all well made and interesting games that very much succeed at what they set out to do. Again, you don't have to like them (there's a few that haven't suited my tastes), but it's doing them a disservice to dismiss them as merely terrible. Even Contrast had a lot of good ideas. Mercenary Kings is the only game I felt was poorly designed, although I have to confess I only spent an hour or two but the opening didn't encourage me at all to continue.

It's been said before, but we have to be realistic about what games Sony are in a position to offer. Oddworld is a big release from an established franchise, so it would be incredibly surprising if it was given away free on launch. Transistor was the work of a small independent team, and even Child of Light was something of a commercial gamble from Ubisoft. Games have to make money, and to Sony's credit they've obviously 'sponsored' quite a few new releases to make sure the Plus schedule isn't completely barren (some would have been commercially successful already on other formats - in fact, Resogun is I think the only one that hadn't had some previous incarnation or launch on another platform). These types of games will show up, but no developer or indeed Sony is going to encourage Plus to grow so big that they can't actually sell software in the first place.

On this month's lot, I have to say I'm very intrigued by Metrico - had passed me by up until now, but it looks like a completely unique and experimental effort. Those descriptions can also apply to Proteus, which is a really intriguing and worthwhile experience. Given a playthrough only lasts an hour or so though, it might be the first title to actually warrant the 'there's only an hour of content there' complaint though :p

Looking forward to playing Fez and Metrico. They should keep me busy for the month along with few other games I'm waiting to get round to.

Haven't had much time to get stuck into Watch Dogs, so have to get back to that. Playing episode 4 of Walking Dead and still have Stealth and Lone Survivor to play on Vita as well.

Not to mention dropping in on FIFA on PS4 and Everybodys Golf on Vita as well, from time to time.

To be honest, more games about than I can get to!!

I bought it again mainly for use on the Vita, great game for playing whilst travelling or in bed.

I find I prefer sitting back and playing games on my console. Just feels more relaxing than sitting in front of my PC monitor.

Can't wait to try "Road not taken" fantastic that's it's free as it would of been a day 1 purchase for me.

Also don't wait for child of light to possibly be on ps+ someday, it's an amazing game for €15!, I bought it twice, ps4 and vita versions.

In my case it's the same screen and seat, but the difference in playing is leaning back and relaxing vs hunched forward.

I finished it a few days ago and loved it. Might be the best of the three Arkham games.

    In opposite land! :D

I'd nearly agree with that. I was fortunate enough that I didn't come across any major bug.

Easily better than City imo and it'd be a toss up between Origins and Asylum.

    I liked them all so far but for me;

    1. Asylum
    2. Origins
    3. City
    4. Blackgate

Origins was great but City was better and Asylum better than that so Origins gets 3rd place by default. Will take 4th place when Arkham Knight gets released!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,830 ✭✭✭✭Taltos

Preferred Asylum over the rest - never finished them, got insanely bored with travelling from one side of the city and back again. Just found that negative outweighed the positives for me.

On an unrelated note just bought Rogue Legacy on foot of the recommendations above - cheers folk - looking forward for some random dungeons.

I've only played about 10 - 20 mins of Rogue Legacy and I'm already addicted to it.

It's Spelunky levels of addictive! :D

Asylum was the best by a long way. Much more focused in what it was doing and delightfully Metroidy in its layout, giving you a relatively small area to explore but not one square inch is wasted and every area has something new for you on return visists

Tbh, I dunno what people were expecting for PS4. The console is still in its infancy. Happy enough to play through some indie games I would never usually go out of my way to play.

Looking forward to playing through Crysis 3. Enjoyed the first two games but never got around to picking up the latest installment.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,797 ✭✭✭sweetie

I think City was a clunky attempt at an open world Batman and Origins refined that to be a more focused and streamlined affair (imo) albeit with some bugs due to a rushed release.

Addicted too, quit Wolfenstein when it finished downloading, not sure when I'll be back - onto my third heir. :)

You can always tell its the end of the month when people bitch about PS+ lineup.

Do people expect Sony to release brand new games each month that normally people pay 60-70 quid for?

It's seriously grating to see people complain every month.

    It's a great service.

I simply wouldn't be able to game without it! A fairly slow year for me work wise with just nixers getting me by, so obviously spending 60 or 70 euro for games is rarely an option. I think the internet age has made us spoilt brats TBH... I personally love PS+.

As a Vita owner I download all the free stuff from PS+ each month. Great service.

I will buy a PS4 Christmas 2015. I dont need one till then due to backlogs etc..

My question is seen as I'm already a PS+ member is there a way I can download the free games for the PS4 so I can have them there waiting essentially for me when I eventually do buy it?

    cheers
