Looksl like we are in for Atletico's young RB Manquillo .

Seen him a few times for Spain & Atleti. Very attacking RB who looked a very good prospect but is very inexperienced.

Hopefully that's a loan with an option to buy.

[quote="Francie Barrett;91383437". What becomes of Coutinho in that case?[/quote]

    I have a capable understudy

    Isco vs Sterling and Coutinho
Not a huge upgrade but would add a LOT of depth to the squad

How can anyone take these stats seriously when Sterling has a 100% shot accuracy rating and Isco has completed 100% of his passes? Load of cobblers that.

When you see the figures for tv rights money we miss out on so much money, that if we were playing in La Liga for example, would be worth just under 75m per season. Thats why FFP is a myth, it only vaguely applies to ring fenced associations.

Edit, thats 75m per season more than we get currently.

Not sure how you figure that. Nobody outside madrid and barca makes serious money off tv deals in spain. They have the monopoly and they know it. They take a massive chunk of the available money.

None of the also rans have it nearly as well in spain as the also rans in england. The spanish equivalent of aston villa would be getting a pittance compared to villa are.

I think we are saving up to buy Southampton FC.
Save us a fortune in the long term at this rate

Was the Suarez paid up front or in installments?

Apparently the bulk of the cash will be up front
AS reports that Liverpool will only receive about £54million of the Suarez fee up front.

It's crazy that they get away with that tbh. It gives them such an advantage over other top European clubs. An unfair one imo.

I think 'The Suarez' will be paid weekly or monthly until his time at Barca ends. ;)

    "Will only receive about £54million".

Yup, but judging off previous reports of Barca's transfer dealings who knows when we will be seeing the last 21mill or whatever it is.

Guess is we will never see it we will be offered some fringe player to settle it. We did well to get 54m upfront, real are paying spurs for bale in 20m installments.

Ah let them keep the 21m and we will take Pedro and Afellay instead

Afellay is 28 now! I couldn't believe it when I looked him up yesterday whilst discussing potential transfers with friends. I'm not sure I would want him anymore. Looks like another career wasted by one of those two big Spanish clubs.

Koeman, saying no fresh bid from us for Lovren. All the reliable lads are reporting we have had a bid accepted, is Koeman just posturing for the supporters and making it look like they are trying to keep Lovren?

On Lovren I'm not a fan of his conduct forcing the move out of Southampton after only a year there but I can see his point on them having zero ambition. The manager, Shaw, Lambert, Lallana and possibly Schneiderlin will have left.

Lovren, Lallana there stock may never be higher so to secure a move to a prestigious club like Liverpool and play in the CL is something they cant turn down as the opportunity may never present itself again.

I totally agree with you on Johnson but there doesn't seem to be any smoke regarding a transfer out so I'd reckon Rodgers will keep him in the side and I'd be happy enough with Flannagin keeping his place on the left.

If we are buying only one FB I'd prefer a RB. If Enrique is fit and we've Flanagan as cover I'd be ok with that, RB we really don't have much options at all.

It will be knocked off the fee next season when 'Louie' comes 'home'.

Yep, first thought for me too. Oddly there was comparison stats for Sterling a couple of days ago and his chance conversion rate was 26/27%, better than Suarez and a few other good quality comparisons.

The stats guys must be watching different matches to me! Must be he got better as the season went on. Funny how early impressions stick!

The 100% stat was an error. It came up correct if you refreshed the page.

But I agree with you completely in principal. People shouldn't judge players by stats but by watching them play. You can manipulate numbers to back up any argument you care to make. Watching a player yourself is a much better indication.

That would mean the fee must be £75 Million or whatever. If it was €75 Million or £65 Million you wouldn't say we are only getting £54 Million up front.

    Yeah, definitely.

Still, I was more getting at the fact that someone put, "only getting", and followed it by a number as ridiculous as £54 million.

Your sig needs editing. Might I suggest a nice Glen Johnson? Perhaps a Reus or di Maria in anticipation of their imminent arrivals?

The latest on Manquillo, it's early days regarding the deal.

Given Glen Johnson's form for the last 2 years I'm probably more elated with this prospective transfer than all our other dealings so far :p

I would imagine that's it for Martin Kelly.

Also likely to be the end of Wisdom at the club if they are pursuing someone younger and less experienced.

There are a lot of players facing the axe in the coming weeks.

We are being paid in 625,000,000 packets of Banshee Bones, 10 by the week. Deal should be wrapped up in about a million years or so. Of course the whole landscape of football will have changed by then. Liverpool F.C will be renamed The Peoples Republic of Cabra, captained by none other than a humanoid created through advanced robotics and the DNA of Freddy Adu, who fortunately has ceased living by being encased in a giant globule of amber. His DNA will have been extracted, of course, using the same method as Richard Attenborough's character in Jurrasic Park.

If anyone tells you otherwise, they are a fibber.
