It's not because they're concerned for the safety of the palestinian people. It's basically saying to them. We're levelling your town whether you're there or not, so get out.

We don't care where you go to, we'll probably bomb you when you get there

Palestinians can't leave palestine. They're locked in. They can't even flee the war zone

Would you rather I say "I Know' and 'Definitely'

If you want facts, then how about this one, 1 Israeli killed to 200 Palestinians killed, yet Israel are the ones who are 'justified' in carpet bombing civilian neighbourhoods.

Palestinians have been calling on the Israeli settlers to vacate the illegal settlements for decades. (And some of these settlers have a terrible track record of conducting attacks against Palestinians) By the logic used by Israel, they should now have free reign to fire as many rockets at these settlements as they like because they people have been warned to leave.

Yes, let's stick with facts, and not conspiracy theories that suit an agenda.

    What conspiracy theory.

I don't actually believe that Israel want to maximise civilian deaths. I think they don't really care about how many civilians they kill as long as they have some half baked justification they can spin out to the world media.

There is a hardcore of Zionists in the Israeli government who have a long term goal of ethnic cleansing the gaza strip and the West Bank. If it wasn't for the UN and international pressure, the settlement program would be consistently taking more and more land year on year, each time, pushing the palestinians out of their homes.

Netanyahu said only 2 days ago that he thinks Israel can never withdraw from the West Bank. Zionists long term strategy is to occupy the Palestinians permanently. I would not be surprised in the slightest if the Gaza strip is invaded and occupied again before this engagement is over.

Sometimes a legitimate authority needs to restore order so they order a curfew and restricts everyone to their homes to allow the police/defence forces to operate without harming civilians

In Gaza, If sky's reports are accurate (and that's a big 'if') the Israelis order the Palestinians to leave their homes and take to the streets, one presumes this is in order to maximise the number of civilian casualties

Those who remain at home and get killed are to blame for not following the orders to leave their homes.

Those who are on the streets and get killed are killed because 'Hamas was hiding amongst them'

This is tinfoil hat stuff of the highest order.

    Really?

And you don't think if that was the case they'd just a few large bombs and have the whole argument over and done with in time for lunch?

I think it's time for Hamas to consider a career change. As terrorists they suck major ass. Almost as bad as the IRA.

I dont agree with the modern IRA but the IRA resisted the British and we are now a free state because of it.Hamas have also resisted Israel and after many decades are still around and going strong and are arguably still resisting Israeli attempts to 'eliminate' them.So your comment is ,as usual, rubbish.

Hardly conspiracy theories.Israel do order palestinians out of their homes-by recorded messages-not by actually confirming receipts of the call.

Israel has also bombed open fields many times before on teh pre-text that they were destroying these underground tunnels so driving people out of their homes into the open is not a sure way of guaranteeing their safety.

And,people go on about how the IDF are so respectful and caring abotu warning palestinians but if someone was bombing my house that I worked damn hard for and considering palestine is one of the more impoverished places on earth I woudl want alot of harm done to them, the same way if i saw 40 of my fellow innocent palestinian children murdered i would want to go and do the exact same to the Israelis. To deny that is a lie

The settlement program is taking more and more every year. Even when the land isn't taken there's still the erection of barriers and drilling wells to take the water from the neighbours.

What % of the settlements have been torn down and land handed back to the locals ?
What % of illegal (under Israeli law) settlements have later been given retrospective approval ?

    The demographics are interesting. https://news.yahoo.com/israel-39-population-figures-184824806.html
Israel's population stood at some 8.1 million in 2013, said Pnina Zadka of Israel's Central Bureau of Statistics. That includes West Bank settlers, Israeli-annexed east Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights, captured in 1967 from Syria. The figure breaks down to 6.1 million Jews, or roughly 75 percent, and 1.68 million Arabs, or 21 percent, she said.

The Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics put the number of Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and east Jerusalem last year at just over 4.4 million.

Subtracting some 300,000 Palestinians in east Jerusalem from the Palestinian bureau's total because Israel already counted them, the result would still indicate near-parity in the Holy Land — 6.1 million Jews and close to 5.8 million Arabs, including those with Israeli citizenship.
And that's not including the Palestinians still living in exile in neighbouring countries.

If they didn that they woudl lose legitimacy, whatver legitimacy that is to have a carte blanche to slaughter a civilian population and carry out collective punishment on a population.

You also remember they used an illegal weapon known as white phosphor,a poisonoue gas banned internationally? But ,listen ,its ISrael ,they can do what they want to all those muslim fanatics who want to takeover the world and behead us all.

Will they actually do anything or is it just talk?

And where are the gazans supposed to evacuate to?

I've never been to Gaza of course, but in Israel the IDF would ring UNIFIL and give the map reference's and the time shelling would begin and end ~ and tbh you could pretty much set your watch by it.

As for where they go, I'm not sure if the IDF provide them information on that but if you're given an area which is going to be shelled you don't have to travel very far from it to escape most of the danger.

The problem (I'm drawing on experiences in Lebanon here) is that if the innocents withdraw to an area where launch teams are operating from the IDF will often show more concern for the innocents than the rocket launch teams will, but ultimately the IDF will attack the launch site.

Some things to remember, and this sounds like I'm an apologist for Israel but these are facts. No other army's actions are watched as closely as those of the IDF, no one comes close.. And there are propaganda value in civilian deaths, lets not kid ourselves that Hamas care that much, after all their human rights violations against its own people are pretty horrendous even by middle eastern standards.

That said, Iron Dome does seem effective and a relatively cheap way of defending Israel from rocket attacks so one would have to wonder what value such an outrageous assault on Gaza holds for Israel ~ unless of course you think the war keeps Bibi's right wing Zionist ass safely leading the Knesset ~ IMO he's as bad as Sharon.

Hamas don't care about their own people either clearly.

No other army outside of the permanent Security council members gets as much protection as the IDF. not many countries would get off so likely for attack UN outposts and schools.

Hamas dont give a **** about civilians be it Israeli or their own but as long as Israel show that peace achieves nothing (and they're doing a fantastic job of that with the west bank) Hamas will exist and will continue to fire.

Every Civilian killed by Israeli weapons creates more potential recruits for hamas and solidifies their power in gaza and hamas know that

I think you need to take off the blinkers.

"Israel is a racist criminal state that uses "security" as an excuse to murder innocent Palestinians and assasinate Palestinian political leaders, intellectuals and clergy. This has been going on for over six decades" - Miko Peled, ex Israeli Paratrooper(Red Berets),From well know Zionist family, son of General Matti Peled, grandson of Avraham Katsnelson who was a Zionist leader and signer of Israel's Declaration of Independence.
