Hi, I'm looking to develop something using Wordpress MultiSite. Any experts out there who can talk to me about this? Thanks.

I set up a MultiSite installation following these instructions on ElegantThemes.com. It was easier than I thought.

I develop for WordPress on a daily basis so might be able to help on MultiSite questions.

There isn't a big difference between the two installation types. What are you trying to do?

    Hi daymobrew and fcrossen,

    Thanks for the interest.

I am mainly interested in using WPMU as a "data-source" for an "App" or "Web-App". Either of you guys specialist in the various and new methods available(APIs etc.) for doing this?

I am looking into building a Yelp like product with a few changes as you might imagine.

    Thanks.

There are application themes like Vantage, YellowPages or Directory that may already do what you want. You could use them as a starter.

Why MultiSite for this? Seems appropriate for a single WordPress installation (though, as fcrossen said, there is little difference between the two).
