    "Online campaigns"

"Facebook campaigns",when people think that Facebook actually matters.

What really annoys me is when newspaper reports say something along the lines of...

Tommys plight sparked a huge online campaign with people showing their support.

Oh f**k off, clicking "like" means f**k all.

Another thing that annoys me, when people write these attention seeking notes to businesses or clubs looking for jobs

Eg dear Chelsea, any chance of a job?i did well in football manager last year...

It wasn't funny the first time,it isn't funny now.

    Oh yeah,selfies....especially at gigs.

You've misconstrued what I meant by represent. I don't mean the whole tattoos with meanings phenomenon, I mean what do tattoos represent in the eyes of other people that makes them automatically form a negative opinion of someone? Obviously, you have a different reason for disliking tattoos, you think all tattoos are ugly paint jobs lol

It's because 99 times out of 100, they aren't tattoos, they're just cheap ink jobs with no artistic expression or effort put into them. That's why 99 times out of 100 they do indeed look like ugly paint jobs.

I don't know how familiar you are with the suicide girls (don't google image that in work, I won't be responsible for unexpected arousal! :pac:), but the body art on display from some of those girls is the 1 out of 100 that's impressive IMO :D

My Daughter has about 30 tattoos. I feckin hate them. Some, I kindof understand, but... I wish she had waited till she was older to get them.

People posting anything in the hope of likes.

I could understand the selfie girl post, that's just vacuous attention seeking, but the girl posting a piece of art looking for likes is worse, because she doesn't understand that art is a personal thing that you shouldn't care whether other people approve of it or not. Art is an expression of yourself, not what you think other people will approve of.*

*Unless by art you mean painting a room a deep wine red color because you're under the misguided impression that it will be conducive to sexy time with your OH...

It's like a red rag to a bull when she wakes up every morning and it's still the same color :pac:

'the white house won't be getting involved in the Garth Brooks fiasco'

The fcuking Whitehouse? What's going on?

In fact they should get involved. They should send over a few fighter jets and bomb Croke Park. Now, there's an end to it.

Bridge of the intergalactic-class starship Gug-G'vunnnt ("Endeavour"), cloaked and in high parking orbit around Earth. Splork the Unconscious, Supreme Commander, and his green, steaming first officer present.

STU: So, they've finally gotten around to inventing a proper, global high-speed communications system, have they? Good, good - what are they doing with it?

FO: Umm, sir, they appear to be mainly clicking buttons in some sort of Pavlovian response to photographs of each other. That, and bickering endlessly over a cake on something called "beards.ie".

STU: I see. So we were right - they are morons. Ready torpedoes!

four hours of "achey breaky heart"

The residents would probably burn the place down:D

This is what baffles me. What could tattoos possibly represent that fills people with such disgust?

Are you saying you would expect people to cover up their ****ty tattoos but not cover up good ones so?

What I'm saying is that some people don't like to see tattoos/piercings. They see them as scummy or anti-social and a whole host of other old fashioned things. I don't see them like that. People in all professions have them, but to be honest your average granny wouldn't want her gp to have a sleeve of tattoos or a visible piercing.

It's all about perception and isn't really any different than asking someone to wear appropriate clothing to work and not show up in a crop top and mini skirt, unless of course they're in a 'certain' line of work:D

Some people are of the opinion that multiple tattoos and piercings are a sign of poor self esteem and borderline personality disorders in certain cases , there may be some literature to back that opinion up, but I can't give you a reference at the moment , I'm just aware that it is an opinion that I have heard from a number of people , hence people with such adornments are felt to be less likely to perform well in their roles , I am not saying this is my own opinion , I haven't completely formed my opinion at the moment as I haven't been in a position to employ a person with tattoos and multiple piercings to date and I have other things to think about.

Based on probability ,given that 400, 000 tickets were sold , someone on this thread must be a Garth brooks fan and has tickets ....come on fess up ....maybe it's the ones who've gone quiet for a few days?.

I just want it to stop now. I'm guessing that it won't be long until there's a climb down and he's given the go ahead to do all 5. I really pity the guy who had to make the planning decision. He's got everyone on his ass now, from government all the way to the residents who originally didn't want the concerts.

I didn't realise what old fashioned ideas my mother has. I was shopping with her this afternoon when a transvestite passed us on the street. She asked me 'what was that? Sigh, frankly I think the guy must have a massive set of balls to walk around Limerick city centre dressed like he was, no pun intended.

I feel a little sick already, just a bit of travel sickness from the bus, then this woman gets on, takes off her shoes and plants them up across from me. They're gross. I think she thinks because she's got nail varnish on they're lovely.

    Ugh they actually smell.

Jeekers people have some cheek, that would freak me out, I would have to tell her to put her shoes back on. You poor thing!

Tell her some weirdo on the internet said he likes her tattoo...

She shouldn't be too long covering up her admittedly fine looking feet then :D

Wouldn't bother me either way as I have no sense of smell anyway :pac:

Lucky you. My youngest son is the same way.

Now me, I can smell EVERYTHING and I would have told her that her feet smell.
