Trouble with UPC, Please Help!!!!!

    Hi all, if any of yous could give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Ive been with UPC for roughly the last 19 months and 7 months ago I went to cancel the agent dropped my price so decided to stick about.
    However due to getting a job abroad, I tried to cancel, they informed me due to price change I was entered into a new contract. I told them I didn't know I was entered into a contract so they said they would try listen to recording. This is over 7 weeks ago with me ringing each Tuesday (Day I originally tried to cancel) with the same outcome. "This has been escalated and we will ring you back in a few hours". I never get a phone call and worst still I'm ringing from abroad so its using up all my free minutes. This crowd would have to be the worst service I have ever met!!!!!!
    Anyways sorry about my rant. Just want to know a few questions.

    1) Do they record all calls? Just I think they bluffing so I will stay the extra few months by say I did agree to it. If they recorded all calls would they not require vast storage space?

    2) What are the ramifications if I just cancel my DD? Can they ruin my credit rating? Can I get summonsed? Would hate this to happen for 200 euros, just a matter of principle for them being so sneaky
