Scrivener - do you use it?

Just downloaded the free version (30 days) of Scrivener. But god help me I am so bored with the tutorial and the manual - I can't read them things for longer than a few sentences. I just turn off and three paragraphs in I have forgotten anything I have read...

So wondering if I just start using it will it all become clear - or do I really need to slog through the manual?

Also - is it actually any good? What is the benefit of suing Scrivener compared to Microsoft Word for example?

    Thanks in advance :)

    Yup, I use it.

Forget the inbuilt tutorials. They're far too OTT.

I looked at the video tutorials on the site. They take a fraction of the time and they're not so boring. Once you have the basics you'll figure the rest out for yourself.

I have a lot of experience using (and building) various software packages and Scrivener is not a complicated one. I think the tutorial is written with complete technophobes in mind.

Thank you - I'm still not sure about it but will give it another try.
