I'm connected directly to the local exchange (which is a stones throw away), but as most of you guys know, the new up to 100MB is only available if your line runs to the cabinet.

Does anyone know if people connected to the exchange will ever get VDSL?

    Thanks!

Its in trials at the moment. Once the line operators and comreg come to an agreement they can start upgrade works.

    Cool, thanks mate!

Would you have any idea when the upgrade will take place?

Not a clue, but you're talking 6 months + if I were to guess. Theres a lot of planning involved.

I think it will be 4 months to the start of the rollout. Quite a few exchanges already have the equipment in place and it will be a fast rollout once started.

Praetorian is right actually, my info was out of date. It'll be just a matter of scheduling appointments to have it fitted(if you don't have a filtered ntu already).

Id say the news is already here, theyve all been listed on the NGA rollout maps. Dates are from last month, I'd say theyve been given the go ahead.

Any chance a mod can merge this thread and another thread, (Eircom fibre for direct to exchange news?).
