can you get a static ip address on an eircom residential broadband package?

    does anyone know if you can get a static ip on an eircom residential broadband package?

    Unlikely. A Business feature I think.

    €50 setup charge on most business eircom packages

    hi watty thanks for that, i had a static with eircom when i had their business package. wasnt sure about residential packages... yes i know about the dyndns, but prefer a real static.

    just found out too that the exchange up the road from me can support 24mb to the houses nearby. i rekon if i got connected to that, i could get about 10-15mb dsl speed based on distance from exchange.

    You cannot get a static ip address on Eircoms residential packages. It's business only I am afraid :(

    Yes they do - it's an add on, not automatic.
