Said I'd throw up a thread for some pictures of this.

It really is an amazing machine, cant stop playing it.
No issues with it at all except some minor repairs that are needed and a good cleaning. All only cosmetic

I looked under the playfield to find some band new plastics, new rubbers and the keyring and some stickers aswell

    Anyway, take a look

Very happy with it overall, hopefully next week I'll get some time to give it a proper clean and order some new bulbs because a lot of them are out and I want to put a led kit into it

That rusty ball is actually bolted down to the playfield, uses a newtons cradle contraption to move the ball behind it

Cost me €1300, quite a chunk of change indeed!

But I paid for this with all my "naked money". Money which I receive for being naked in front of hen parties. I just put my money everytime from that into a separate fund and so this didnt seem so bad.

I have a tasteful nude picture of me with women draped over me if anyone would like to see?

You could post that gif a million times and it still wouldn't be enough.

Jack Burton - you finance your retro purchases via hen party debauchery?

This is too brilliant for words. :pac:

I thought this was all common knowledge?

But yeah I get paid €100 a hour to be a nude model for hen parties, its only a hour at a time though and might be a few weeks apart, or could be 3 in a day really varies a lot. But after a few months its nice to be able to put all the money into a big retro splurge

Are you going on record here by telling us you're a stripper?

    Good Christ this gets better.
So you've financed this pinball by whoring yourself out to drunk hens??
Good god man you are a king amongst men.
Here are the rest of us common folk scrimping, scrounging, agonisingly selling our prized possessions on eBay to make way for a new purchase and you just get oiled up to be jaysus with your flute out and get a pinball machine for your troubles.

Pinball looks great, pick up some autosol from a motor factors and polish anything metal with it, nothing like novus for the playfield

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

I was actually looking for something for the metal so thanks a lot. Going to see if I can get some novus 2 tomorrow before work in the few car shops around

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,182 ✭✭✭CathalDublin

I used autosol on everything which was bare metal in mine and it came up amazing and still looks like new almost 2 years on, consider my machine is from 1989/1990 and was lying up at least 10-15 years so the metal was really badly tarnished, I'll see if I've comparison pics

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,946 ✭✭✭TechnoFreek

Can Novus be picked up in autoshops?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,182 ✭✭✭CathalDublin

    I got mine on amazon

I got mine on eBay. There is a great tutorial about Novus and pinball repair on YouTube.

You could also buy a metal tumbler to restore all the metal parts and the crusty pinball for about 3/4 of an hours work! (About €70) ;)

Here's the difference it made on the rails on my machine, see the right hand side rail.

First off. Thats a savage pinball machine. Looks class after the clean up in particular. Very jealous.

The thread has taken a pretty strange turn though with all this talk of stripping.

Kinda makes me happy I've never joined ye at one of your beer nights.

Brings a whole new meaning to the part in brackets "(AKA the night of the scandalously drunk retro geeks)".

What exactly do you get up to. Actually dont answer that. :pac:

So what actually is the Theater of Magic? The pinball machine, or the 'drawing room'?
