Dean Kelly back to Shels and Eric Foley to Bray supposedly.

Didn't Foley slate Mathews online a number of times?

Baraclough gone. Harsh on a manager who's never gone a season without a trophy. His signings have been woeful but the injuries the last two seasons haven't helped matters.

Easily the most professional manager we've ever had and an absolute gentleman too. Some great days with him.

Wish him all the best in the future. Next appointment vital to the future direction of club.

    Roddy anyone?

Id rather we withdrew from the league.

We've done alright getting managers from abroad in the past.

Fully agree. Wouldn't let him anywhere near the Showgrounds.

I'm thankful for the success he brought, but it was time to go.

I could deal with the negative/shyte playing style when it was successful, but when it has you 5th in the league and out of both cups I can't accept it. And as I said previously, he was terrible in the transfer market. John Russell doesn't count since we were the only option for him in the PD.

People are saying Fenlon, but I would rather trust the board to look outside Ireland again. Fenlon has never been successful without having the biggest budget in the league.

Good luck to both of them wherever they end up. I'm sure Baraclough will get a job soon enough.

Well if you hire him you'd probably end up withdrawing from the league.

Has to be a troll post. This is what happens when you open up the soccer forum to all.

    :p

Will repeat what i just said on the Sligo Rovers thread on the Sligo Forum. Whilst neither the team or the management have really delivered this season so far, I would rather the us entering the second half of the season and the Europa League with a Manager in place, either them or a permanent replacement who can deliver and progress on the clubs recent success, rather than slip further this season with no manager or an interm one.

Hard to know who to blame. We have a League, FAI, and Sentanta Cup under the two of them. I think though they should have been given a chance till the end of the season, then allow time to get someone new in place if need be. Unless there has been something going on behind the scenes that we dont know about.

Personaly I would wish them both the best of luck, and sad to see them go mid season after such recent success.

If Fenlon gets the Sligo job I'll be gutted, was hoping he'd have arrived in Tallaght by now.

Fenlon wont be in Tallaght until Byrne gets over his issues with him. And when that happens Rovers will dominate this league whilst he is there.

Managers by length of time.....crazy tbh

It's a problem football has in general, I think winning the league and the cup should have allowed Baraclough to stay on a bit longer, I think a change of managers works as often as it fails.

Nutsy has more or less embarrassed himself going for the Rovers job at this stage. He's been after it before this time as well. Personally I'd love to see him manage us.

The two things aren't necessarily mutually exclusive :P

Madness I think. Anyone would think Sligo had a records like Man Utd over the past few years. it's also crazy to think that Kenny and Croly are jointly the second longest serving managers in the league - after about 18 months in their jobs.

Half your board offered it to him and one person said no, Nutsy is not the embarasment here.

Fahey “Reason for not playing Dundalks astro last wk down to very serious hip surgery i invested in last yr.. I cant play on that surface anymore,”

For the Dundalk fans that think they have a pitch, brilliant for us cos Bolger played. Bit of luck Bolger is back and Fahey pushed forward beside Brennan.

We don't have the budget that Fenlon requires for success.

New manager will be announced today.

    What?

Fahey on why he refused to play on Dundalks pitch.

I seen his tweets alright, He cant play on any "astro" pitches.....

Ive said it at start of season and il say it again, He was your biggest waste of money in a while..He has done Zero of note all season, and my mates that are Pats fans arnt happy, as they say he is playing when others are better

1 out 10 hollywood passes come off, problem is the way we play we move up the pitch, he plays the hollywood pass it doesnt come off and we get caught out.

But when it comes off holy ****.....almost always a goal or shot on target. my preference would be Bolger in front of defence and him and Brennan ahead. That mid 3 would win the league.

And we are not paying him so its a no brainer for us, he seemingly said at start of season before he signed he wouldnt be playing on your pitch. Cant really complain about it really.

The committee didn't let the grass grow under their feet on this one. Makes you wonder how long ago the decision was made to dispense with Ian.

Entertaining game in Richmond today battered them 1st half with near full strength side, Forrester Quigley and Brennan were outstanding. 2nd half loads of changes and they battered us, game never went into pre season mode, both teams went for it.

    Very enjoyable to watch.
