They're right here. Costa doesn't suit a tiki taka team.

Still though, some bench the Spanish have.

A lot of the older players should retire at the end of this tournament. Give the younger players a chance to build up for the euros. They can't be much worse than what is out there now

David Silva, Diego Costa, Xabi Alonso, Busquets are all poor.

Azpilicueta and Jordi Alba offering no support either. Casilias is done at the top level.

Take off Alonso and bring on Koke. I'd have started Juanfran instead of Azpilicueta too as Spain have nothing going forward. Maybe try Mata for David Silva too as even though Mata hasn't been at his best he can't be much worse than David Silva.

Spain could of used Jesus Navas now too.

The whole Spain squad has been infected with Torresitis.

Supreme Power, scintillating pace and stifling physicality, passing precision and passionate defending by Chile has shell shocked the seamless and hapless Spanish. Spain with passive passing are on the brink. Put there, by the by blistering pace of this vociferous bunch of Chilean commandos. Spain set for clinical termination.

Anyone think Abramovich might pull the plug on the Costa deal?

I'm going to disagree with your inclusion of Busquets on that list. He's been Spain's best player tonight by a long way, his positioning and quick distribution have been everything you want from a Spanish midfielder.

    The 'Costa Curse' more likely.

The andersonisgod bashing is well past the point of being funny.

Llorente, Negredo, Soldado, Michu all should be ahead of Costa, Villa and Torres not sitting at home watching this on tv.

Pity that they can only make 3 subs as all 11 could be switched

Not at all, the excuses are reasons and the reasons are staring you in the face. Obviously I hope that Barcelona and Spain overcome their issues because when it's done right there is nothing better in football than their tiki taka style of football in full flow but, despite my optimism, anyone can see the problems that the Catalan club and the national team are experiencing.

Personally though I'm entirely upbeat about my next for Barcelona. Lucho seems to be aware that the end is nigh for this group and certain adjustments must be made. This tournament will be the clincher for the national team too. There are a host of terrific young Spaniards who can carry the torch that this group lit. The philosophy won't change, but the personnel must.

Credit to you, you nail your colours to the mast and stick with it.
