Checking bookmarks?

Hi've got hundreds of bookmarks that I've amassed over the last eighteen years or so of being online. Most of them are still active but a lot are dead. Is there any automatic way of checking which ones are no longer valid & then either producing a report or automatically deleting the invalid ones?

As you're posting this in the Mac forum, should I assume you have all bookmarks in Safari? Or are they all over the place in different browsers?

Have different browsers but use safari as default
