Not sure if this is a common approach, or maybe I'm just a cheapskate...

Once or twice I've been caught in the rain with the telescope fully set up. I didn't think that would ever happen, but sometimes when clouds appear, I wait in the hope they'll blow over. It's not fun rushing to disassemble everything.

Lidl have weather-proof barbeque covers at the moment for a fiver. I picked one up, and it's the perfect size for the scope. And it has string pulls at the bottom, so it won't blow away.
