The sound of drilling irritates me, but not as much as it'll irritate the pisshead neighbours who were still drinking at 6am this morning and who kept us awake half the night, paybacks a bitch:D

It would be music to my ears (almost) in that situation. :D

I've just heard a recording of my own voice. It's so much more annoying than I thought it was.

I can't even sit out my back garden without my neighbours hearing my every footstep and calling "Hello!" and wanting a chat.

Don't get me wrong, I've lovely neighbours and I'm always out chatting to them but I just wanted a bit of peace and quiet to sit in the garden with a magazine only for the neighbours to shout: "Oh is that you fussyonion?" and me shout back "Yeah, hiya" and then they pop their head over the wall.

Got to the stage where I was tip-toeing across my decking so they wouldn't hear!

People taking a dump in the jacks on an airplane on a short flight a CityLink service to Dublin and smelling the whole cabin bus out, there are toilets available till you leave the departure gates Coach Station.

It's usually a good looking bird that does this too.

I really don't like the sound of my own voice. It sounds so much cooler in my head! :(

    I'm the same.
I think lots of people feel like that, but there are plenty of others who like nothing better than the sound of their own voice.

I had to conduct interviews and record them as part of some research I did recently. Transcribing was a real pain, not just that it took ages, but having to listen to myself talk! :pac:

    "Good morning" - is it?

"Good weekend?" - none of your business

"Nice and warm out now" - it's Monday. I dont give a fuuck what it does out there.

Also, you're driving along and you need to turn left. There's a 24 hour bus lane on your inside so like the good law-abiding citizen you are, you wait until the road markings say you can move over into the lane for turning left. Meanwhile some idiot who was behind you decides to ignore the 24 hour bus lane and turn into it before you, and not only that but the fuucker goes too fast for you to be able to turn in when you are supposed to, but too slow for you to slip in behind them. Maddening.

Maybe but today it was a hipster in his 30's, who was probably writing his screen play on his laptop on one side of the train and a 50 year old man playing candy crush on his iPad. Its really annoying to see this on a packed rush hour train. Just stand up, its only for 20 mins.

Charities have now started congregating at Luas stops. God help any chugger that crosses me before my morning coffee. :D

People who say "good afternoon" and then say "Oh wait no, its still morning isn't it? Yes, still nine minutes to go....Good morning" - ffs, there's ten seconds of my life i will never get back. Who gives a fuuck? We both know it's 11:51 and the morning is anything but good!

Contractors. The guy, who was meant to do the work is sick. That's grand I get it, these things happen. But they could've called me first thing in a morning not now dammit. The boss was good enough to give me a day off and now it'll be wasted

    Small talk.

The weather chat is a pet peeve of mine:

    :pac: "Grand day isn't it?"

 "Well thank **** you're here to clear that up for me because otherwise i wouldn't have noticed it was a nice day. Is water also still wet? Is gravity still working? Anything else that i already ****ing know that you feel the need to tell me about?"

The sports chat also annoys me because i live in a GAA mad county so everyone talks about it. What does a person get out of knowing what a complete stranger thought about a bog-ball match that has already happened? Will our little conversation about it enrich you enjoyment of it somehow?

So much time wasted talking about nothing when i'd be perfectly happy with utter silence.

Apartment living. There is always some trivial annoyance. The a**hole upstairs building Noah's fuucking ark. He's been tapping for two years. Now, he has started the drilling phase. I will drill a hole beside the one he already has if he doesn't stop soon. There's always someone coming out of the car park when you want to go in and vice versa. There are kids dumped in the communal garden all day as their parents think its a playground. You cant open your door in your pj's for five seconds to let the cat out, you can be guaranteed there will be someone walking past. People coming in at 3am with high heels. People leaving at 6am with suitcases. Maintenance staff always tipping at the place yet leaving it exactly as they found it. The gates stuck on open (security issue). The gates stuck on closed (cant get in or out). The person who seems to be going exactly where you are going and who holds each door for you with a "who the f*ck are you" look about them. I have my own keys. Close the door and let me open it with my own keys of you're that paranoid. Also, being that person and wondering who the hell is following me. Management using chemicals and not alerting pet owners. Kids jamming the door open so they can run up and down the stairs. People looking at me suspiciously through their curtains when I take herself to do number 1 in the morning, as they cant see her and think I am just going for a stroll in the complex and standing outside their place for no reason :( I need some space and green and I need it soon. My mind is tired and my soul is dry :( I shall become a recluse and live in the mountain. I will let my hair grow long and unkept, and will wear an animal hide, and live off the land. People will be afraid to approach me. There will be no more interruptions. Nobody will dare say "nice morning" to crazy mountain lady...

ONW I hope you won't become a crazy mountain lady with unkept hair (damn I should really get a haircut) because this thread would suffer terribly. I'd miss your Monday rants. They just make me feel so much better :P

Swear to God. Fifty fuucking Mondays in every month. Dont worry I shall bring you strange offerings from the mountain. Berries....potions....strange cuts of meat that may or may not have come from people who trivially annoyed mountain woman and then found themselves alone in the hills...lol
