When I had the 735 I was getting 15mpg urban, which was 90% of my driving. Could manage 30mpg on cruise @ 80mph on a motorway cruise though. :)

The other week I drove a 156 V6 for 40 odd miles, in which when i started off i put in about 13 littes of fuel and by the end the tank was nearly empty again.

So I averaged about 12-13mpg at just below motorway speeds, and a drive through Trim and Navan

Once the lacquer is on, can a panel go back on a car, or is there anything else that's needed to be done?

Were you driving it in third all the way. When I drove mine I never bothered to look at the current consumption. That'd take the fun out of it. :pac:

All ready for her NCT tomorrow. Only booked it an hour ago and got it for tomorrow. Nice.

    .... huh.

I don't know why people say rotaries have such terrible fuel consumption then. Seems perfectly normally for something that makes that much power....

Apart from they don't make THAT much power :pac: There's probably 500bhp S14's in the country that get better MPG :p

    JUst saw a w12 A8L; disappointingly quiet engine ;-)

Some of the fun is achieving that mpg :D

With the s14, we use 120 euros of fuel over the course of the day!
    740cc injectors :(

    120 ain't bad considering.
I'd say I'd use more in the Megane on a track day.

Their some serious low mpg figures but high smiles per gallon I'd imagine :)
I was out in the golf this evening and realised that it's 3 weeks ago since I bought diesel and it's 1 notch above 3/4 of a tank  going to dublin airport tomorrow so that will probably drop it to 3/4 :pac:

Well that is taking turns from 9 with another group every hour.
Then taking an hour for lunch and finishing at 5!

4 hours, then your group is split in two with one half in the pits and the other on track at anytime.

    So that's 2 hours. Or 1 euro a min!!

And its still worth it :)

Seems very cheap for a seat.

    ,

This isn't the exact seat, but it does look very similar..
Did it reduce clearance for you getting into and out of the car for your thigh/knee area? I'm tall (6'3") and with the stock seat I can barely slide into it and my right leg under the wheel. It looks like the added bolster might have reduced the clearance.
Yes, as I have the seat mounted, the thigh/steering wheel clearance is reduced even though my butt sits lower to the ground. However, given your height, you could get away with making a slim-fit fixed bracket and bolting the seat directly to the floor. In that case, thigh clearance should improve. When I did a test fit with the seat directly on the floor, I could barely see over the steering wheel. Granted, I'm 5'4" but you get the idea - the Sparco is dramatically lower than the stock seat.

Just to had, it's an N.C.T fail as it can't recline..

I'd be putting it on side mounted brackets and getting a smaller wheel, even as it is now I've no problem getting in and out. I'm only about 5'10". :)
I just fancy something that will hold me better than the stock seat and I'll be keeping the stock one for NCT if I have to. Not a big job to swap them out once a year.

I'm just concerned about the quality of the product. I don't want something that will fail in a crash.

Well you're right to be IMO. As I always thought that bucket seats were never deassigned for head on collisions.. Also I think that speeds in a race on a track would be slower then speed on a motorway. So it's part of the risk.. just my own opinion though

Happy 1st anniversary to me! It's been a pleasure :)

It would depend on the track and section really but you are right.
How ever, Sparco do recommend the seat for both track and road use, where as other are competition only.
The sprint is a steel tube construction unlike other carbon and fiberglass seats that are made for weight reduction.

And if I'm honest, if I crash an NA MX5 at motorway speeds, I don't think the seat will play a huge part in how I leave the scene. :(

How often do head on collisions happen at motorway speeds though? People tend to forget that its a pretty unlikely thing to happen unless you meet someone coming the wrong way on the motorway. I doubt very many collisions actually happen at 100km/h either, there'll almost always be some amount of braking going on.

The old engine system fault on the focus didnt sort itself ... was hoping keeping the fuel up would do the trick but didnt so its in the ford doctor today while I head to work on a bus !

Heres hoping for a cheap fix !

Seats realistically won't make any odds on a 120kmph head on.

You'll definitely find banger racing out here, it won't be advertised on the radio though. :p

I've never heard of it anyway.
