Apologies to the 2012+ Audi driver I cut off this morning in Galway, was held up by a blue Polo doing 30 in an 80 and joined the dual carriageway without properly checking my blind spot.

    :(

Nct time for the gtv....I'm interested to see what it fails for as I've been over it with a fine tooth comb when it was being put back together. Watching the tester trying to find to pop the bonnet was funny. Took him 5 minutes to find the latch.

With regards to the parking on drury street they do it so they can park more cars in together. There's no lines in it etc.
The last time I parked there a load of crumbly old brick from the ceiling had fallen onto the roof of the car. One to watch out for.
I think it used to be an old distillery.

Seen another one of those new "german" Opel Astra ads. They are now saying something to the effect that the Astra never breaks down due to its German engineering :pac:

Thats the one that used to be horse stables, I parked there a few months back, I parked the car myself and collected it no problem. I didnt have to give keys to anyone.

    LOL :pac:

The Astra is getting on a bit now. This version is out since 2009!

In fairness though, most of Opels range is like that...

I was thinking it would be a bit weird that all the wire looms in the car would be corroded. I'd say if the connections look good and the electrics / switches work I wouldn't be touching much electrical wise anyway well other than stripping out the aftermarket crap. If it ain't broken don't fix it and electrics can be a minefield specially if you don't have decent wiring diagrams. Just looking at the project thread the stripping down seems to be going well will be some car when your finished with it.

My sister just bought a 09 JDM Mazda 2, its full of features like electric everything, keyless start(there is a dial that you turn and as long as the car detects you have the key on you then it will start), a reversing camera and a voice that welcomes you in Japanese. Down side is how disconnected I felt while driving it, you are so high up and it feels like the car is driving itself, also the brakes are rough as ****, maybe the calipers are just tiny. I will stick to 90's cars thanks.

Anyone know what the craic is here. The panel has been lacquered but still looks dull  Does it need a wax or polish or something? I ain't too up to date when it comes to spraying.

A question for people. I went to look at the car yesterday took for a test drive and really liked it. I got a price off the salesman, and told him I'd get back to him. So I got onto a mechanic I know to have a look at it and he got in touch and the dealer said that he could take the car away and have a proper look at it. Now the mechanic hasn't got the car yet as the dealer said that he would get back to him, but in the meantime I drove passed the dealers yard and the car has a sold sign on it.

Am I after losing out? Or is this just general practice. My gut tells me it's the first one.

Maybe they reckon you've bought it

Thats what I'm hoping anyway, really liked it and just wanted to get it looked over before I made any purchase.

If you didn't leave a deposit it's more than likely.

You have to move quick when you find the right car.

Took off the coolant system today, the amount of rusty water in there was unholy, my hands and arms are now a tan colour :pac:

I now know what it feels like to have really bad fake tan :pac:

    +1
Unfortunately if someone walks in with the money they will sell it to that person there in then even if they thought you were interested. But ring and find out maybe they do think you are going to buy it. But it would be mad if they marked cars sold as they thought someone was interested enough and might buy it.
