Widows 8 - Forgotten Password

    Hi

    Wondering if anyone has been able to reset/remove windows 8 user password? - Without having microsoft account.

    Used to use Hirrens CD to fix this on xp/vista/windows7.

    Just waiting for the 1st person to have forgotten theirs an would like to know in advance how to fix it.

    Download a Ubuntu Live CD to another PC, burn the ISO to a DVD and boot onto this. Click 'Try Ubuntu' and you will have access to the hard drive.

    Create a folder called 'holding' on the C: drive. Copy cmd.exe and sticky.exe there. You can then use the sticky key method to reset your password. Files are under Windows > Users if I can remember correctly. If you look it up on YouTube you should be able to find instructions on how to reset your password. The sticky key method is widely known.
