Anyone any experience replacing an optical drive in a MBP with an SSD? I'm looking at doing it because my DVD drive is dead, but it'll need a caddy for the new drive. The OWC one is about £30, and generic ones are about a fiver. Anyone tried either of these?

I have bought an fit two of them. It is easy to do and you will receive a very basic pack of screwdrivers to open the back panel of the mac. Going slow and carefully as it is your first time should take 30 minutes max from start of opening to finish of closing.
I don't have experience of other caddies.
I had to pay some custom duty/tax but I think this is only if the value of the item is over 50 euros. I bought two and some other bits and bobs so was liable for the import tax/duty/whatever.

Sounds good, I think I'll probably just get the OWC one.
