You know then that it only went on sale in the uk today, so you may have to wait a while.

Is it hard/expensive to unlock UK phones to an Irish network?

Hadn't heard of it and wondered was it any better than my current phone - a Nexus 4. Looks like it ain't!

Still, that's a good phone for the money.

This phone is sold unlocked! As per description on the Tesco site and the first poster here.

Seems to be a good deal too for the price according to Ars Technical. Just don't expect too much, it's a budget phone and some corners were cut.

The lack of led would actually be the only thing that would put me off. In 6 years of having a front facing camera I've used one twice.

It's not as powerful as the Moto G and the camera will never be impressive but still holds up fine as a phone.

The Guardian has a review here:
    http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2014/may/20/motorola-moto-e-smartphone-review

In short, a good phone let down by a poor camera and lack of storage sapce (only 2GB for the user). A microSD card can be added.

It is a good bit more expensive but you forgot to mention the size comparison 2GB vs 16GB (assuming you are referring to the 16GB version). Plus among other lower spec features with the Moto E.

Trying to order, but this tesco site is a pain in the hole.

For the address, it forces you into choosing pre-allocated addresses by entering in the postcode, so yes, I can choose parcel motel from the list, but it doesn't
seem to be possible to enter my PMID info anywhere. Even where you write your name, you're restricted from entering numbers.

I know the likely hood it that it will get to me anyway, but it will really slow it down without the PMID being on it.

    Anyone got a workaround?

If you dont want to use Parcelmotel ,Amazon have the Moto E for 89.99 ,although the Vodafone Moto G is only £15 more .

For anyone else encountering the same issue, following the instructions in this post will do the trick:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=90409599&postcount=16

Also, for the credit card part, you won't be able to enter your proper address. But using the parcel motel address, providing your card is using the 3D secure system that AIB and BOI use, you can have a mismatch on your billing address.

On a side note, who the fcuk signed off on that tesco site? It's comically bad. Did they not consider, that in a highly multicultural place like the UK, that it just might be a possibility that people would be using non UK registered payment cards, and to include an editable address function to fulfil that need.

Bit of a rant, yes. But it sure does fcuk me off, when I have to spend a frustrating hour trying to give a company my money....

    135 isn't a good price on the G though.

The E has an sd card slot the current G doesnt so the size doesnt matter :D

yeah i know but my original point still stand.. ronano said G is more expensive but fail to say it is more for the G due to higher on board storage.. a slot is just a slot at the end of the day..

I have one on order a few days now, it's on the way so i should have it soon,
I used my PM number as my mane with Tesco in the format of TwoNineFour and so on.

I used my PM number as my mane with Tesco in the format of TwoNineFour and so on.

There is no real need to do this. You CAN change your shipping address details at checkout and enter your PM123456 info there.

May not be with all parcels but on two I have received from Tesco direct it has been missing my first name so it's a good idea to put the PMID as your second name. That way it'll be Mr. PM12345
