Please help an idiot download a driver.

I've tried umpteen times to download this driver and end up in a constant circle of the link bringing me back to where I have started. I've searched extensively on search engines for other places to get this driver on softpedia etc to no avail. I have the mini cd rom that came with it but it won't run on my pc. Pc is windows 7 Ultimate 64.

Patience running on fumes. Any help appreciated.

Looks like that device is a rebranded Ralink RT3070 USB.

Can't find it manually but there is a setup program at
http://www.comfast.cn/upload/file/RT3070%203072%205370%20V3/setup.exe

Don't know whether it's english though.

If you want to experiment, you could try the driver from
www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/

Halfway down the page, below the linux penguin listings there's an entry
USB (RT2870/ RT2770 RT307x / RT2070 ....) 9/28/2013
driver version 5.1.11.0
for XP 32/64/ Vista 32/64 Win7 32/64 Win8 32/64

Click on the download link, provide a fake email address and capcha to download a driver install exe.

the chipset is a RTL8188CUS

So the appropriate link on the comfast site would be

It's a rar compressed filetype so you'd need 7-zip or winzip to extract it into a usable setup executable set of files.

So I tried the files above countless times. I've tried it on two different PC's running different versions of W7 and on both PC's I get abnormal termination for this driver. The message comes up when I try to run the set up exe. I think I'll just buy another wifi dongle at this stage.

Please help an idiot download a driver.
