    Hi,

Purchased a asus rt-n66u to use instead of the crap thomson that UPC provide , but when I am connecting the thomson to the WAN port of the asus, and run a cable to my pc from the asus, the max speed im getting is 50mbits per second.

When I am connected directly via a lan cable to the thomson , I get the full 200mbits per second.

Im losing ALOT of bandwidth between both.

I have placed the second router in a DMZ and assigned it a static IP, tried disabling one DHCP server on each between, brought down both firewalls but it does not seem to help

    Any ideas?

Also, is there not a plain cable modem that can be used for the 200mbit connection ?

    Cheers

Hello - try an put the UPC modem/router into Bridge Mode and use asus as your main router.

    Hey,

I tried that, did not make a difference in terms out the bandwidth and also when its in bridge mode my WAN seems to stop responding on the Asus after 10-15 minutes.

I've ordered the previous cisco router they used to provide , and I am going to add a switch separately for internal traffic

    Will see how that goes

    Thanks :)
