I use Zopim, its really easily setup and one "seat" is free which is perfect. The only advice i'd forward is that if you are showing as being 'online' - then be there to respond! If you are offline, still allow messages through and respond to them fairly quickly.

Zopim is an good live chat application, but as an alternative you can also try eAssistance Pro, comm100 or live2support. They all are good
