You're worse than me when it comes to rebuilding an entire car :p

By the end of the year ill have replaced the clutch, gearbox, engine has been taken out, full service done on it plus all the belts, clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder replaced, brakes (lines, pads and disks) will have been replaced, rear suspension will have been stripped, rust proofed and polybushed, both antiroll bars upgraded, shocks replaced, drop links replaced, driveshafts replaced, all fluids replaced and the previous owner replaced the radiator, alternator, front suspension bar shocks, starter motor, power steering hoses and a load of other stuff. Not to mention that the car will have been repsrayed as well. Ill never be able to sell it. :pac:

See the difference is though most of my work, I would consider relatively small, just the effort of getting to the bits and stuff to do it, all that i'd consider major major stuff, I'll never be able to sell mine either though :P

I think you knew that just from the badge ;)

Sure I knew that before I bought it! :p

Although prices for phase1's have bottomed out and have started to rise! :)

Its a big issue for sure - but if Insignias were going on fire left right and centre - wed be hearing a LOT more about it surely.

Not sure how exactly Opel can come onto boards and tell customer to shut up though.

Pms possibly - but even so - doing that - means they look even more idiotic then they do already.
Sorry it was a bit tongue in cheek but came across wrong. I'd say its just a PR executive told to keep an eye out.

There was a lad on here a few weeks ago with a power steering pump leak on his 2010 insignia. Some one told him to get it sorted before it goes on fire.

Quick question if you leave your car in for work, is it acceptable for car to be taken home by a mechanic?
And going on a trip to the shops!

If they're diagnosing a fault at the time then maybe.

When my focus broke down and it wouldn't start again. When the garage got it running it wasn't showing up fault codes so they were worried it might breakdown again. So they ran and asked could one of the mechanics being it home. I was happy enough with this as I'd rather it broke down while he was driving it than me. It was all fine when I got it back the one thing I did notice was that in the 150km he put up he managed an average of 9.5l /100km :pac: which was serious going for 1.6tdci  i meant to ask him what speed he got it up too :)

    No!

No reason whatsoever he should be driving it.

    Yeah my thinking!
It's not at the garage it's currently parked in someone's front garden!!

If the insurance where playing ball with regards fixing mechanical damage I'd expect it sure!!

    I'm f**king flipping

They should have told you before they took it. But as said if it only panel damage there would be no need to test drive it anyway. Maybe if it had suspension work or serious work done underneath it would need to be driven.

You pass the house? I'd be knocking on the front door if it was my car.

You have tracking device in your car. Do they work well? Well they must do if you are able to track going to the shop and to your mans house.

Manual 300zx's and unmolested FD RX-7's really can't be got for love nor money atm.

I think it's time to buy a feckin corrolla and be done with it.

I don't know why but I have to say the black grill looks far better imo.

Coach builder painted it. And added side skirts, and painted the mirrors.

That's the only pic I could find. So even one with just colour coded grille and nothing else is still built by a Coach Builder?

You would see the odd van with the colour coded grille as well though..

A 1.3 now, those 1.4s VVTIs would leave you in a ditch
