I thought Lane Johnson's missus at last year's draft was fit.

i dont know about this year but maby next year

I'm with you on this one. Still too many holes on the roster. Last year was a step in the right direction and I'm absolutely sure this year will be too, so its a fun time to be a Jags fan.

the big thing for me is that i cant see them finishing ahead of the texans (who have a better all around team) or colts (who have a far better qb) this year. they have a lot of young talent though if they develop well i think there a potential perennial play off team in a few years time.

i guess it all comes down to weather or not they can develop blake bortles its a qb league after all.

Any word of that Irish punter/kicker who was in the papers earlier this year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

    What a ****ing moron!!!

    http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24559187/dolphins-db-don-jones-fined-suspended-for-anti-michael-sam-tweet

I do not have high expectations for the intelligence levels of NFL players but you would think that after the year that they have just had that all Dolphins would be enlightened when it comes to homophobia/racism.

No idea, wasn't he an UDFA in last years draft tho? As far as i remember he was Irish American not Irish

In other Irish American NFL Kicker news, Punter Pat O'Donnell Bench-Pressed More Than Jadeveon Clowney at NFL Combine http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2059113-punter-pat-odonnell-bench-pressed-more-than-jadeveon-clowney-at-nfl-combine

I think he had a trial with the Bears and that was about it.

There is Sean Galvin of the UCF Knights and Patrick Murray (Irish-American) who kicked for Fordham. He signed a future contract with the Bucs in January.

    @JaMarcus

    What is Xavier Grimble like?

He could be our starting Tight End this year? We signed him as a UDFA

I always liked him but I wouldn't have expected him to be a starter. He's a better blocker than he is a pass catcher, or at least that's how he was primarily used at USC. Then again we always had quality wideouts and Kiffin never really put great emphasis on passing to anyone other than Marqise Lee, let alone tight ends. Looking at him, you think he should be dominant but he looks pretty slow and never blew me away. Might get to show more of what he's made of if it's asked of him though. I'd be surprised is all.

Colt Lyerla has yet to be signed by a team yet. Surely someone will take a chance on him

i dont know hes talent is a tad overrated and hes a massive dick teams seem to be making a conscious effort to avoid that type of player these days

Agree with that but there are so many dicks in the NFL that you expect someone to take a chance on him still

Lyerla isn't worth the hassle. Compare him to Vontaze Burficit, who I thought was a huge tool and way over-rated, who his worst mis-demeanours were consistent personal fouls and being a dick to coaches. He looks like a Saint compared to Lyerla and he struggled to find a team. His talent doesn't outweight his massive issues.

The fact that Chip Kelly hasn't gone near him is quite telling IMO. He'll end up somewhere...

didnt himself and kelly have a huge argument when he left oregon?

edit: i wouldn't pay to much attention to that either way big red didn't go after desean jackson and i don't think theres character concerns there

Think I heard somewhere that Pittsburg were signing him?

Burfict has gone on to become one of the best young linebackers in the league, in no small part due to landing in a great spot with Mike Zimmer. Lyerla has easily as much talent & if he lands in the right spot I don't see why he couldn't deliver the same.

That wouldn't be bad for him behind Heath Miller. I think Chicago would be another good spot for him.

apparently marquise lee could collect up to 5 million dollars off of the insurance company due to injuries keeping him out of the draft nice little bump to get him started in the league.
