Not a fact but someone from Belfast referred to me (from Donegal) as being from the south, and another person from Galway referred to me as a northerner.

So my fact is Donegal is not in Northern Ireland.

When I worked in Westmeath, people who didn't know where I was from assumed it was Donegal.

Derry men are the hottest men in Ireland and their accent makes me weak at the knees.

Northern Ireland is home to the UKs largest lake (by area).

    Lough Neagh.

When they had the big "ULSTER SAYS NO" banner on Belfast city hall there was some graffiti under it that said "But the man from Del Monte says yes".

And under that was some more graffiti that said "and he's an orangeman"

How can anyone not love these people?

So do I, they are insulting themselves by inferring they are Americans. Nobody wants to be an American!

    I thought they were eskimos!

    Derryman checking in.

Only been down south once for a GAA game and seen a group of kids being called a bunch of Nordies for crossing a road too early in front of a hideous inbred 40 year old chav from Dublin.

Around half of the cars I see here in Derry are from the Republic. If only they would say half of the snidey comments they say on these boards to my Catholic friends face they would see how stupid nationalism is. It's taken me 25 years to even concern myself with the Republic of Ireland to join this board. You are insignificant to us. I genuinely don't know a single nationalist who is friends with a person from the Republic. From reading these boards and the comments on your newspaper articles you come across as an even lower-class form of a Daily Mail reader.

My view of the people from the Republic is that they are extremely insecure. They fawn over Britain more than even the Loyalists here in the North do. You also seem to think you're funnier than you actually are and I'd be willing to bet you'd see 100x more fights/scumbags in Dublin than in Belfast.

Are you sure you're not from Londonderry?

C.S. Lewis, writer of the Narnia books was born in Belfast.

What an absolute load of ignorant crap! I hope that match that brought you to Dublin was a few weeks ago :)

Signed: A dubliner living in derry with many friends (A good few of whom are nationalists btw)

Enniskillen is built on islands and linked by bridges. It's a kinda Venice of the North of Ireland.

After looking at a map and seeing Enniskillen straddles a river with one island as part of it, and that most of the town is off the island, I am disappointed :(

Interesting didn't know lewis was there.. Not a fan of the north now, we finally went up there last year and just found a lot of people rude and the towns were a bit boring.. Cant say id be rushing up there again. Wait im taking a bit back tis nice to see the giants causeway but that daft centre has ruined it so boring, and the shaky bridge that was nice..

Oh and it is home to some amazing trees sounds boring but the Dark Hedges are loverly very nice.. There is something special there

Why does one waste time with islands, rivers, and Venice comparisons, all the while knowing that there is a Wetherspoons on the main street?

    The mind boggles.

In the south, when people are upset, they have a "bloody meltdown". Up North, people get into a "tizzzz" :pac:

I'm living in NI my whole 26 years and I have never seen a real life gun.

That's in response to the Southerners that are afraid to come to NI incase they get shot dodging bullets.

All police carry guns so you probably have. ;)

Look at their belts next time you see one. :)

Never been stopped at a police or army checkpoint?
