We don't need someone who can win now, because that means he would have to play now. And that's impossible while Brady is still Brady. Barring injury, Brady should be playing until he's 40. Garoppolo will be winding up his rookie contract then, so from a timing point of view the move makes perfect sense. I'm more concerned about the lack of moves for any targets for Brady. No sign of any moves for a TE or WR, the guy is the most neglected QB in football, when it comes to giving him top class targets.

It would have made far more sense to take a player (outside of a QB) that would help the Patriots to win now though. I can't imagine Brady will be too happy with the Patriots essentially, the way he'll probably see it, wasting a 2nd round pick on his backup, someone who is not going to help the team in any way win this year, when it could have been a player that would contribute something to the cause for the duration of his remaining years.

but do you want to be drafting bradys replacement after he retires and running with a rookie at qb?

pats fans have had enough success that i think 1 or 2 really bad years and there will be a lot of fans going mental

God forbid if we picked a player that could help us win. Before the draft I thought we'd draft a QB in the 3rd round. The 1st rounder was always going to be a DE/DL. I thought the 2nd round pick would have been on a TE or WR. But just before the 2nd pick, Hazys and myself were feeling a QB pick coming and it did.

Really hope Logan Thomas is there for Titans 4th round pick! Extremely risky but he's a hell of an arm!

Even if one really rates Garoppolo, there's not enough difference between him and the remaining guys that a similar standard of player couldn't have been drafted at some stage tomorrow IMO. Someone you can develop behind Brady for a few years if you want.

If I'm Belichick I ride off into the sunset at the same time as Brady anyway so really don't care about the future and thus don't want to waste a picking drafting a QB so early, so I wonder how much say he had in this decision, though maybe he stays on after Brady, I don't know. I'm just presuming.

Let no one be under any illusion, Belichick runs the Pats war room and the draft. Kraft does no interfere, especially after the mistakes he made in the Parcells era. Rumours suggesting that the Pats moved earlier than planned for a QB, because of an anticipated move for Garoppolo by another team.

How is Desir still available into the 90's? Crazy.

    Will Sutton/Ego Ferguson. We'll see.

Emery knows the safety depth in the draft isn't good and wants to draft a corner who can be converted apparently. I hope Pierre Desir is on the board at 117, but he probably won't be. I love the guy after reading about his life the other day and he could make a good safety, if not, he would make a fine corner.

Yeah, no doubt. 5 trades today. Currently negotiating with Oakland about trading levi stadium and the golden gate Bridge.

He was unreal against EIU. Probably the best performance by a RB I've ever seen.

The 49er's don't work the draft, they rape it.

Too early to take a punt on colvin? Or possibly a qb?

Twitter reckons they should take Brandon Thomas, another o lineman

Crockett Gilmore, what a name :pac:

I know literally nothing about him. De Costa brought his name up last week when talking about the TE class and compared him favourably to Pitta, according to the Ravens guys on Twitter.

    Until tomorrow evening gents!
