No surprises there so. Very dangerous D-line for Houston next year.

Jags have to play that D-Line twice :(

Rats... stuck a tenner on Manziel at 12/1 earlier (Clowney was 1/5).

Didn't realise there was a dedicated thread for the draft itself on the night.

Anyways best player in the draft picked first, the way it should be. I think the Texans were begging for a trade down but it didn't happen.

The best player in the draft goes #1.

Texans D is such a frightening prospect.

Luck will make a show of the Texans for the next 10 years regardless.

anyone else think he will play olb for them if they put him inside on the line i think there neutralizing him to an extent his strenght is off the edge

Then they'll inevitably have him dropping back in coverage from time to time, and I'm not so sure he can do that. Probably neutralize him more that way.

I don't think we'll see any surprise in the first three picks, after that it could go mad.

ya hard to argue with that i guess once they work on his hands a bit it will end any issues he has there anyway and he gets to learn from jj watt what a teacher

NFL network just showed the picks Rams took from the RGIII trade, and then whoever they get now. GM win, really, IMO.

With the 2nd pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select:

    Greg Robinson
    OT, Auburn

Bradley and Caldwell of the Jags are very safe when it comes to drafting based on last year, would be shocked if it wasn't Mack. Perfect player for our D.

Here we go again with Mayock 'predicting' every pick. FFS.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,317 ✭✭✭HigginsJ

Not convinced by that pick to be honest, if you wanted a tackle I'd have Matthews

Mayock just can't help himself

I'm letting that one go as it has been flagged up all week

Mayock up to the same 'prediction' crap as last year.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Personally I think Jake Matthews would be a better pick there. I'd be worried about Robinson's pass protection. If I'm picking a tackle at #2 I don't want to worry about one of the key attributes needed, I want someone that I can just put in there for 10 years. Matthews is that guy for me.

Robinson has great potential though, hopefully it works out for him and the Rams. Ray Lewis comparing him to the Ogden, high praise indeed.

I'll let him off with the first 3, maybe 5. After that, I'll be changing!

Fully agree with you Higgins, re taking Matthews first.

Falcons....Please don't trade up for Mack and take Mathews. Time for trading up is over

Checked out Twitter after that pick. LaCanfora ruining things about 5 mins early as per the norm.

    Getting nervous now.
