I'm a bit late to this debate cos I'm only just getting around to watching the highlights of last night now, but why in the name of god was Fellaini playing in the attacking midfield role?

I would be one of Fellaini's biggest advocaters, but if that is the position they intend on playing him then get rid of him now. Boggles the mind that he spent the whole game in a further advanced role then Kagawa, and that he kept Mata out of the team to play that position.

Watch him over the summer for Belgium playing in a cm/dm role and you will see what he can provide us which we are badly lacking, someone to support the defence from midfield and break up opposition play.

Absolute nonsense if he is gonna be consistently used in the same way as he was last night though. Hopefully Van Gaal sees sense in this department

And it wasn't a random comment. The chap said Conte is building a world class team. I say Nani is not world class, and therefore doesn't fit into a world class team.

A world class team doesn't require every player to be world class within it though. Maybe that was the point.

his form for a major part of the 2011 & 2012 seasons was world class for a winger save for a couple of bad games here and there.

he has spent alot of the time since injured but people seem to forget he was one of our best players during this time, especially in the title win of 2011 when he was voted player of the year by the players. he got 20 goals and had over 30 assists over those 2 seasons...those are excellent levels

his last 2 seasons have been muck, but we should not forget how good he was when at the top of his form.

i wouldnt consider much of the barca defence over the last 6 years world class but barca are considered by almost everyone to be world class same goes for real

i can take it or leave it tbh id rather focus on rebuilding in the BPL than have the squad deal with thursday games. make the league the prime focus

Yeah, Andy Carroll had a couple of great seasons. His form has been damaged by injuries also.

I'm not offended, I agree with you that Nani is not world class, he hasn't even signed for Juve, so he wouldn't have been classed as one of the World Class players Conte has bought (following the discussion??).

Players like Pepe, Ramos, Puyol, Pique, etc., may not be world class but they put in a shift more often than not. Nani, on the other hand, rarely puts in a decent shift.

Read back again good lad i said Conte has build a world class team for pittance, not Nani going would help them build a world class team. I never in the post said Nani is world class. You are the only person who said he is world class, nobody is saying he is world class so i am not sure what your arguing about.

Nani has been injured on and off for the last two years, before that he was one of our star performers, he has always put in a decent shift for United when he has played, if you think he hasn't, then you are as deluded and fickle as the next person.
