Transfer pre school provider on ECCE scheme?

    Hi all,

My daughter currently attends a community run playschool. Over the last few months there has been constant problems with staff and the service really has gone down a lot. As a result of all the messing about myself and a lot of the other parents are completely fed up and wish to move our children to a different service provider.

Upon some research it seems we must give 4 weeks notice to our current provider which at this stage is not really viable considering there is only 7 school weeks left and to be honest, we are almost on a day to day basis with regard to if the school will even be open and who will be staffing it. It's just ridiculous.

Is there any exceptions to this 4 week notice? Is there someone I can contact with regard to this?

Many thanks for any help or advice.

Have you made any complaints about the school to the local childcare committee ?

I actually came across them after I started this thread and contacted them. Initially they said I had to give 4 weeks notice but after I explained the situation, she called me back 5 mins later and said I could start my daughter in a new place tomorrow and it won't be a problem. They are launching an investigation into the playgroup.
