    Radio DJ this morning:
A text in from X, out running this morning. He wants to say hi to Y, they are getting married in 6 weeks. Y is also out running this morning.

Put down the phone and sort out your life. If you aren't going to take your running seriously atleast take to notion of face to face social interaction with the women you plan on spending the rest of your life with unless she leaves you for someone who will actually talk to her and not have a DJ do it for him

How will Y know he said hello to her - unless she is wearing headphones :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Y may have heard it when she stopped at a shop to buy Monster Munchies! It is the time of year to train for that event ;)

Totally agree, but it's worse on some radio stations when they do it on the news. e.g. There was ten grand worth of coke found in a house in.....

grand, coke are slang and should not be tolerated on a news bulletin which is supposed to be informative.

Absolutely. No professionalism whatsoever. Can't stand it when radio DJs think it's cool to say gaf when referring to someone's house...

Jim Jim and Nobby bug the **** outa me. And Podge's tv week.

I went to the Howth IMRA race on Wednesday evening. Nice evening with a bit of fog - seemed like a good one for to take it easy as I'm just coming back from injury. All is well at first. Overtook my mate. Then getting a bit tired. He overtook me. Getting to top and delighted though worried about a second lap. 300m down stepped on one of a gazillion stones but this one twists my ankle. Bit sore but seems ok. 200m further on getting sorer and then sorer. Decide to stop and try and make my way to finish. Obviously I looked ok as the marshalls did not realise that I'm injured and sent me on second lap. Went over on ankle again and someone told me I was on second lap so went back this time the correct way to the finish - this time a helpful IMRA official helped me greatly (much appreciated).

The next day I went to the physio. 3 weeks out of action - I'm back in action for three weeks after a 10 week layoff.

    Not my best year.

You could have just told the first marshal you had twisted your ankle!

I miscommunicated with the 1st marshall - my fault but that makes it even more of a grumpy rant!

Nothing worse than not being able to shift the blame.

Passport renewal delayed by 3 weeks. Flying out on Wednesday had to book new flights on an airline that accepts drivers licence!

I can only imagine the ones that didn't get medals didn't run ;)
More annoying for me is the fact half of the people refer to the 6mile as the 10k

Always wondered why they haven't just made a 10k out of it... I'm sure a few hundred yards are easily found? Or are they?

Run a 10km race around a forest in the middle of know where. Bunch of other speedy old blokes turn up and ruin my chances of claiming a prize. Finish 6th place overall and 5th bloke so must surely get an age group prize out of that... but no, I was 4th old bloke.

Wouldn't feel as bad about missing out on a prize if there had been a few more youngsters running but there was only 3 people under 40 in the top 15 places, and one of them was the winning woman.
