    What about carbon fibre type?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,845 ✭✭✭Noccy_Mondy

Instead of the gloss? I kind of want to keep it original and not veer off from the OEM look.

Mini meet with Tom_tarbucket today :)

We talked through the weird e60 options list and I done my best to convince him to attend the next meet.

His 523i is lovely after all his searching :)

Torch the interior. Fit new seats. Only way to be sure. The alternative is mold and fungus making people sick when it blows out the vents.

Also. Had to move up my car purchase to tomorrow, because of everyone's work schedules - was called in on Friday. Which means a hairy morning getting a bank-draft, or cash, ready, getting a cluster of insurance quotes by phone because 2 web interfaces fell over, and then getting out there for afternoon with it all.

Worst comes to the worst, the mammy can drive it home because her insurance policy lets her drive other people's cars. Ah well.

You been to the GASCC show before man?

Nope, first show as an exhibitpr was the kilbeggan show last week. Even saw the guy that sold the truck to me and we were talking for a while. He has a camaro now.

The GASCC show is legend. Fraction the size of Kilbeggan but X 100 the craic. Sound lads that run it and their philosophy is simple: show = session.

Do yourself a favour and book in to a B&B for the night as it goes on til all hours. Good food, great music and savage session. ;)

Apparently its from a blocked rubber drain under the battery tray or some such.

New engine mount = completely different car  and I had it off in 10 mins, which is a driveshaft out job! Then began to spill rain.... :(

Roads are really slippery, when the turbo cuts in fully on a wet stretch in 2nd and 3rd gear..... :D:D:D

Will be without the car all week, its going up to Lester Engineering for a wheel refurb. Still undecided about colour.

OEM colour is a little boring, I do like the silver on the 19" Spiders:

It's to fool other users at night into thinking it's a Saph.... Or to lessen the blinding effect as the front is cocked up :pac:

They'd look well in the same colour as the E39 M5 rims. ;)

Really tempted to change the timing belt on the GTI myself. If it wasn't a pig of a job and a terminal failure if I do it wrong, I'd be all over it.

It's something I'd like to do myself, buuuut it seems to be an engine out job in mine, that and the terminal failure bit :o
