When connecting what do you fill in for identity? ....I set a password for it on the UPC site but have no idea what identity is used

Your username. Same one used to login on the UPC site.

When you decide to enable or disable Horizon wi-free via your UPC account it can take up to 72 hours for it to take effect, why so long?

Any time I've changed settings on it, they've come into effect within a few minutes. I guess it's in case the authentication server doesn't update straight away.

It may have to be done manually?

Its a live database that's constantly being queried, if its busy it won't push changes until load drops, and then it takes time for such changes to propogate out would be my guess.
