Help with router in work

Hi all,

Hope someone can help me out with this. We finally have got broadband in work (router arrived today). Bit confused about the setup though regarding where to put filters.

Obviously I'll have the double filter in the wall. DSL to back of router. Phone line to fax machine(main phone) then this is where I'm stuck.

Our credit card machine is connected to our fax machine In port extension 1. Then there is our cordless phone that is connected to a separate socket. Do I put a filter between cc machine and fax machine?

Sorry if this doesn't make sense. Does in my head but that's not saying much!

If the fax is is downstream of a splitter then everything after that is already filtered.

Socket--Splitter--|---Modem
........................|---Fax

CC Machine
Socket--Filter--Phone

If this is what you're suggesting its fine.

What provider is it? Is it just regular DSL? You should have 2 filters, or both in one. DSL goes to router and nothing else. Phone filter goes from wall to everything else. So in your case it should probably go from wall to phone filter to fax to cc.

Thanks for both of the replies. It's with Eircom. Standard router. Ya ed e that is what I was thinking alright. Wasn't sure if I needed to put another filter on between cc machine and fax machine but I take it I don't so. Thanks a mil for that.
