    That's why it's called a water closet.

So just checked into the kip that is Ibis Budget. On the plus side it is literally right next door to Stade Felix Mayol. Weather is lovely and we're about to find somewhere to watch today's games.

We stayed in an ibis in Bordeaux. We laughed about it, but I honestly think it was a prison with a reception.

So, this is how Les Toulonais.... welcome the teams to the pitch...

It's essentially the Toulon Haka, but instead of being performed by 15 men on the pitch, it's performed by 15,000 people in the stadium.

Would love to see one of the Leinster players with a Leaving Cert in French face up to the likes of Giteau, Heyman, Armitage, Wilkinson, Smith, Roussouw or any one of the other Toulon players, bar one or two, and say: "Moi, je l'ai compris. Et vous?"

Seriously worried about Basteraud. As brilliant as they are defensively, he seems to revel in getting past Darcy and BOD. All he needs is a half break and an offload

    Here is the translation:

Ah! We, the terrible Pilou-Pilou warriors
    Pilou-Pilou!
Who come from the mountains and go out to sea
    Pilou-Pilou!
With our savage wives breastfeeding our children
In the shadow of massive white coconut trees
    Pilou-Pilou !
We, the terrible warriors cry out loud our terrible war song
    AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH !
I said: "OUR TERRIBLE WAR SONG"
    AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH !
    Because TOULON
    RED!
    Because TOULON
    BLACK!
    Because TOULON
    RED AND BLACK!

I'm not sure if there's a more intimidating place to play rugby or set of fans more intimidating than that.

Soak it up boys, use it as your motivation. The louder they shout at the start of the game, the quieter and more unnerving it will be for the Toulon players when you silence them.

    Pfft, it's no Thomond. :p

    Leinster by 6 for me.

O'Driscoll isn't finished yet. That is worth all the motivation in the world to the squad.

To make it even more of an uphill battle for Leinster, I believe Toner might be out and O'Driscoll is apparently 50/50.

Doubt toners injured. Saw him training in ucd during the week and he was grand so unless he banged his head off the door frame he'll play.

And it seems BOD is always 50/50* for meaningful games so no surprise there either.

    *he usually plays...

Just been crunching some numbers and come up with an interesting observation, worthy of a piece of trivia.

In the five HC campaigns preceding Toulon's victory last year, here are the numbers of tries scored by the eventual winners in the knock out stages of their victorious runs to the title.

    2008 Munster 5
    2009 Leinster 4
    2010 Toulouse 5
    2011 Leinster 6
    2012 Leinster 10

So how many tries do you think (without Googling) Toulon scored in total in their three knockout games last year? Was it:
    a) 0
    b)1
    c)3
    d)5

(Hint: Jonny Wilkinson plays for them)

    Answer:
Yes. It was a measly one try (b) scored by Delon Armitage in the final. The remaining 56 points all came from the boot of Monsieur Wilkinson. Bad guys!

going a few pages back but just back from the pub after the munster match. is that the away team being made walk through the crowd. if so its a disgrace and should not be allowed.

with regards the haka thing let them at it but it only makes them look foolish

anyway delighted with the munster win today. hopefully ulster can keep up there lead today and ye can put tolon to the sword tomorow

would be an epic semi final and i believe we have one hammering each in our last two heineken meetings so lets make it best of three winner wins the tournament again :D

best of luck to ye il be wearing blue tomorow

dont watch a lot of top 14 if im honest but it seems to be the way there going look at tolouse today they have a great back line but there being neutered by a massively immobile pack

sad to see as a lot of the french teams have good back lines and have the ability to turn on the traditional "french flair" if they wanted to

Leinster have absolutely no chance. They get away with MOC's dire coaching in the Rabo but they will be completely found out against a side with the quality of Toulon. Injuries and selection decisions haven't helped at all.

And if Leinster lose badly to Toulon then I fear what will happen to Munster. Leinster of 2009-2012 would beat Toulon, but things have changed. The loss of Sexton, Nacewa and SOB is absolutely huge. Literally 3 of the most important players alongside BOD. Then the loss of Schmidt and appointment of MOC.... The less said about that the better.

The last time I checked, Leinster were top of the Rabo and have come through probably the toughest Heineken pool and into a quarter final.

    Am I missing something here??

Their actual performances? It won't be anywhere close to being good enough to beating Toulon away.

toulon where in neither in that group nor are they in the rabo there a step up from anything ye have played thats what your missing

id give leinster a good chance to beat them toulon have a team of superstars but this is still a serious leinster team and we have seen how the irish team for example have raised there game on occasions for bods last year.

id nearly have leinster as favs with sob in there right now i have toulon but i think your right in that leinster do not deserve to be written off

Injuries and selection decisions won't help Toulon either. If Wilkinson wasn't the icon he is then he wouldn't be at 10 tomorrow. His performances haven't been great and that goes for his goal kicking as well. Toulon are missing Andrew Sheridan in the scrum and have a hooker that is a potential liability in the lineout.

Come this time tomorrow I could be rooting for only Munster in the Heineken Cup

Yes, an unhealthy overdose of negativity all wrapped up in a parcel of pessimism.

I really don't understand not picking Luke, he'd be in my first 15 and then starting Gopperth when he hasn't started a game in ages, makes me wonder.

Before yesterday I wanted the three provinces to win anyway but now that we got through I want a trip to the Aviva as I certainly won't make the south of France. So G'wan Leinster
