Yeah I don't know. The ultimate app generally has everything in Irish time not local time. Molloy has a ticket! Does it say 530 or 630 on it?

5:30 on the ticket so 4:30 Irish time it is.

It's 430 people. For any doubting Thomas's out there.

think this will be a similar game to toulon-leicester last year. One score game

Usually there is one QF away win. I am hoping there is none tomorrow though. Save it for sunday.

I think if we're going to win this it'll be a grind out 15-13 type thing.

We'll be solid enough up front but they have us in the backs and on the bench.

    This concludes my match preview.

My heart wouldn't survive that. Not within a month of Paris:(

So, this is how Les Toulonais welcome the teams to the stadium...

And this is how they welcome the teams to the pitch...

It's essentially the Toulon Haka, but instead of being performed by 15 men on the pitch, it's performed by 15,000 people in the stadium.

    Here is the translation:

Ah! We, the terrible Pilou-Pilou warriors
    Pilou-Pilou!
Who come from the mountains and go out to sea
    Pilou-Pilou!
With our savage wives breastfeeding our children
In the shadow of massive white coconut trees
    Pilou-Pilou !
We, the terrible warriors cry out loud our terrible war song
    AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH !
I said: "OUR TERRIBLE WAR SONG"
    AAAARRRGGGGHHHHH !
    Because TOULON
    RED!
    Because TOULON
    BLACK!
    Because TOULON
    RED AND BLACK!

I'm not sure if there's a more intimidating place to play rugby or set of fans more intimidating than that.

Soak it up boys, use it as your motivation. The louder they shout at the start of the game, the quieter and more unnerving it will be for the Toulon players when you silence them.

    Intimidating or noisy?

I'd say they're noisy but not intimidating.

    Seriously though, coconut trees!?

    +1

    Where's the melody?

Heard more intimidating shouting in the race to the bar at last orders in the local:D

I don't think they have us from the bench, especially not in the forwards. We have a tip notch front row to come on, and two absolute wrecking balls in Murphy and Cronin. The only Toulon sub that scares me is Habana for obvious reasons.

The stadium goes deathly silent when Toulon are on the back foot.

If they are the back foot at any stage I can guarantee the stadium will not be silent. 2,500 to 3,000 travelling Leinster fans so not so silent. Unless we're getting trounced that is.....

So wait, not content with buying every player who has ever laced a pair of boots, they annex a pacific island tradition and hire in some mouri lookin fella to scream at them. Have they an ounce of originality to them at all?

What'll be next? They'll probably buy the rights to bread of heaven and sweet chariot, and give cindy lauper residency to sing America the Beautiful at half time, as young local men charge across the field waving red flags while being chased by bulls.

God I hope Leinster smash these vacuous new money parasites.

The Pilou-Pilou chant has been a club tradition for the last 70 years, first performed by their player Marcel Bodrero.

Haha. I was thinking I should have looked that up before posting such vitriol.

Screw it anyway, still hope Leinster smash them.

Tbh I've a little bit of time for Mourad Boudjellal, he's not as rich as you'd think and he's mostly just good at attracting investors and sponsors to his club. He's a local boy sponsoring his team and his town.

As much as I think sports and politics should be separate, I also really appreciated this firm gesture from him during the week.

Toulon cancel friendly after far-right mayor elected. Particularly this quote.
When I meet a player, I want to ask myself first of all whether he's a good player or not, rather than whether he's black or white.

Yeah I'd feel the same about Mourad. I mean how many of us wouldn't jump at the chance of owning a successful business and being able to buy Leinster/Ulster/Munster and turn them into giants (possibly a moot point I concede at this stage mind)?

Not too convinced by picking Gophert at 10 but I reckon it points towards what kind of gameplan Leinster will employ. Going to go for a heart over head job on this one and have put some of my money where my mouth is. Leinster by a score.

    KO 430 Irish time

Sky have their build up to start at 4pm!

Dunno if you watched Sale v Northampton this week, but I can assure you that Sky's build up for Leinster v Toulon started on Thursday. By the time Will Greenwood stopped talking about Bod and Wilko Nothampton were leading 14-7.

This fixture is mouth watering ladies and gentlemen. When you've won so many Heineken cups that it's getting boring you have to get your kicks elsewhere, and raiding the Stade Felix Mayol is probably one of the toughest questions this team has ever been asked. If I was to put up a poll for Leinster fans I'd suggest only a barefooted pilgrimage through the Massif Centrale would be more intimidating (and even that wouldn't be unanimous).

The history books remember finals, but true fans remember the really great matches.

I think there may be an opening for you with sky sports if you can wax that lyrical about GAA - I've heard there may be a forthcoming opportunity there:p

Trust me. Toulon will hurt after this game. Win or lose. As will we. That's just the way it should be. Bring it on!

Once we give it our best shot then no one can fault us if we lose.

Keeping his powder dry for the semi perhaps?

So just checked into the kip that is Ibis Budget. On the plus side it is literally right next door to Stade Felix Mayol. Weather is lovely and we're about to find somewhere to watch today's games.
