Hi, I'm trying to help a friend to set up xbmc on a Windows 8 tablet. I use Android myself so I've never used windows 8.
When they download the file it gives them an error message, something about can't download & go to Windows app store.
Is there a setting that needs to be changed to allow a download that's not from the windows app store.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

If it is a Windows ARM device then there is no version of XBMC for it afaik. The Windows XBMC requires a x86/x64 compatible CPU. There probably will be a Windows ARM XBMC variant ported at some point in the future as both Android and iOS have it

Thanks, I'll have to ring them to find out. I'm not living nearby. The only info I got was that it's a Dell tablet.
