Strava - Heart Rate Monitors (Android)

Can anyone point to a list of compatible HRM's that work with Strava using a Android Phone (Sony Xperia Z). Can't see anything on the Strava website.

You will need at least 4.3 to get them to work. I have a h7 but it won't work with my z1 but will with my s3 with jelly bean

A Number of the Xperia Phones are Ant+ Compatible having an Ant+ chip on board, that would mean your phone was compatible with any Ant+ HRM, the current issue though is the App support on Android for Ant+ is in a nascent stage, but you may be able to find something that works, Strava for instance doesnt support Ant+ HRM data yet on their Android App.

I used the wahoo fitness hrm. You need bluetooth 4.0 to work

Im getting confused now...so updating to 4.3 on my Samsung S3 means there are some compatible HRM's that will work via Bluetooth...

Would anyone be as kind to point me in the right direction of one?

The Polar H7 HRM works via bluetooth with the 4.3. I'm not 100% on the Strava compatability but it does work with both the Wahoo fitness app and the Polar Beat.

Beat is somewhat restricted on Android devices and the roll out is going slowly but compatible on the following:

Samsung Galaxy S3 with Android 4.3 or later
Samsung Galaxy S4 with Android 4.3 or later
Samsung Galaxy Note II with Android 4.3 or later
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with Android 4.3 or later
LG Nexus 5 with Android 4.3 or later

I have a Sony Xperia S. I gather data through IpBike apps. It reads my hrm, cadence and speed sensors. I upload my data to Trainingpeaks and Strava. From Trainingpeaks, I upload the data to Twitter, which sends it to Facebook. I have a bontrager node 2. The gps and data readings on my phone are close to the readings I get on the computer, which only reads ant+.

This states it will work and is quite affordable. Anyone else got this or think its worth the punt?

I received this HRM this morning. Good and bad news! It works with Bluetooth 4.0 fine as in the I-got U app itself loads fine and recognises the device. Gives me all the info I need and wanted BUT its not Strava.

For some reason in the S3 Bluetooth settings itself it cant find this HRM and so cant add it to Strava. Grrr. Its def an S3 settings error somewhere...annoying as its soooo close. I recently upgraded to Android 4.3 and doing some research I see a number of people are reporting Bluetooth issues, so its more research for me unless anyone here has any tips?

My Garmin HRM (came with the Forerunner 305) works with my Android too. I haven't tried it with the Strava app yet, but it definitely works with the Garmin Fit app.
