non working caps lock and "a" key

hi there both my caps lock and my "a" key intermittently fail to work for variable period of time. it would seem to be a software issue rather than problem with the keyboard itself seeing s both of them refuse to work during these instances.. any idea on how to resolve this? thx

Is it a usb keyboard or an inbuilt laptop keyboard?

boot into safemode and see if it happens there. If no then it's software related.

if yes, then it's hardware related.

As the Caps Lock and A key are adjacent then it's more likely to be hardware related. maybe a tiny piece of debris is between the keys.
