So, Glenn & Co were really dejected and afraid when Rick & co opened the trailer and got in. They just hid, didn't even attempt to escape. They must be broken!

As has been said in most posts, good episode except for the cheesy ending. Looking forward to next season....anyone else think that they panned over the dodge charger a little too long at the beginning..I miss the hyundai..

Edit...its on again, and the uncut version that was on a 9pm didnt show the zombie fodder get his face chewed off by the walkers (he really should have ran threw the 10ft opening between the walkers to escape)

My main grievance is it feels like a rehash of the previous Woodbury storyline to a certain point barr the cannibal side of it.

I was really hoping for a change of scenery soon like a city or a big town at least.

Don't think they were hiding, it just seemed like an intentionally staged shot for them to appear out of the darkness, to maximise the dramatic reveal. Besides, considering we had only earlier witnessed the exact lengths Rick would go to in protecting his own, I imagine his presence will be a galvanising force.

I agree, I myself am sick of those forests and backwater locations; I'm sure it's cheap to shoot but it has become incredibly monotonous to look out. A contrivance to have the group trapped in Atlanta might make for a good change of pace. Survivors living in tower blocks, that sort of thing. Without spoiling too much comic readers, do the novels themselves ever get the hell out of Georgia?

Chances are they were trying to guide them to that area alright now that i think of it but the shooting in general has been so terrible throughout that its hard to tell really.

Have you ever shot a gun? I did, under no pressure whatsoever, and I can confirm it's bloody difficult.

yep - but even the comics have a somewhat recurring theme

They were clearly herding the group

Just watching it again on FOX with the subtitles on, totally missed this part, as they were running through Terminus with the snipers shooting at them, they ran past a container with people shouting "help, let us out!"

I'm a bit disappointed with that tbh. Overall I enjoyed the season but that seemed like a bit of an anti-climax to me. I cringed a bit with Rick's last line. We all knew terminus was bad news so no surprises there. To be honest when they were scoping it out I was thinking to myself "don't all go in at once!! Send one person in and if they aren't back in a specified time then everyone else goes in guns blazing". That's how I would have done it.

Bit disappointing that they didn't give us any more info on Beth or Carol and Tyresse. Also the scene with the Daryl's group took me by surprise I have to say. In previous episodes those guys didn't seem to bad but all of a sudden they've turned into child raping psychopaths?

No one catch the fenced in section with a huge pile of human looking bones while the group were being herded to the train car?

Yup, it was mentioned earlier in the thread.

When Rick bit yer man's neck I realised this is based off of Junior B hurling. I won't spoil the ending for all you comic book nerds.

Season 5: Beth to the rescue.

Lucky for the Terminus ones that Daryl, Michonne, Rick and Carl have such bad eyesight that they didn't see all the guys with guns at the fences when they were checking the perimeter

Excellent episode and brilliant season, I really hope Gimple returns as show runner next season, there has been some brilliant arcs used from the comics that I would never have imagined like the pinned down carl scene.

I wonder if the people in the other container screaming for home l help turns out to be lee clem and crew from the game.

I thought that was beth sitting down at the table with get back to Rick when they were offered food?

people are spoiling a major plot point from the comic that hasn't been revealed in the show! 5 times atleast in this thread

They no doubt heard the ****storm of bullets that was flying around and decided against it. The best time to break out would be at night, preferably making an opening in the floor of the train rather than opening those squeaky doors.

I thought it was a great episode, the throat-ripping and the attempted "Squeal like a pig"(Deliverance) scenes were total WTF moments, real boundary-pushing stuff.

As a finale, it left me wanting more; i.e. doing what it should. The S3 finale wrapped up too much; Woodbury all but gone as a threat and everyone settling down to live like The Good Life. Roll on S5. October, DOH :(

What did Rick say when they were in the room with candle, Michone said "they're not trying to kill us" and Rick "no they're......?"Listen back 5 times can't catch what he said.

I thought it was the opposite. That is why they spent the entirety of a season at a farm. They did as many scenes as possible indoors because their budget was constrained. They must have got a lot more money for this season

I thought it was pretty good overall. Its been so long since I read the comics that it's unpredictable again. It has reached the darkness that it should have been all along. I didn't care for the flash back scenes at all though, I thought I was watching the wrong episode at first.

Thought it was an effective low-fi finale even if the cannibal angle (I have not and will not read the comics but my feck if you can't see it when they run by a cage with a pile of human corpses picked to the bone then you are doing a poor job watching the show) was clear from nigh-on the start.

The last sentence ''they're screwin' with the wrong people'' was built up as if Rick had out-smarted them or had a plan so it fell flat on its face as a season closer. At least if they gave us hope of quick resolution of the Terminus plot-line it'd give you something to hold on to until October.

But this being The Walking Dead: The Recession Edition we can expect the better part of the front eight of season 5 to deal with Terminus. Someone will probably lose a limb, maybe someone dies and then we're back on the road yet again.

This show is almost unmatched in its ability to bemuse. I'm equal parts looking forward to the next season and dreading the usual mis-steps that have become a tradition of TWD at this point.

Oh, and people that didn't get that the Terminus cannibals were herding them with their bullets and purposefully avoiding shooting them - step your game up.

Really enjoyed the finale. Solid 8/10. I nearly started crying during the attempted rape scene.

Considering everything that's happened, if/when Carl escapes Terminus, I don't think he'll be rushing to help people anymore a la the scene where the guy surrounded by zombies yells for help.

In the shrine with all the names written on the floor are the candles implied to be made from human fat or was that me reading too much into the cannibal angle. they looked pretty homemade?

I think it was a homage to all they people they knew who died before they turned into cannibals. There were trinkets beside each name. It was a reminder as to how they got to where they are and why they continue like that

When they were in the house where Rick was hiding under the bed they were talking about who would get to be the first to rape the woman who lived there.

OK, for me that was a 9.

The ending felt pretty lame, but I think the rest of the episode was excellent.

Scene with the rednecks was one of the tensest I can think of in the show. When Rick's headbutt appeared to have backfired, and Michonnes attempt failed, it was nailbiting stuff! Then Rick going full madman was shockingly great, think Carl finally showed some acting skills this episode.

Intro to Terminus was good - Gareth is an interesting character. The "Ok, you're nervous!" bits were funny and broke the tension but you could tell something was off.

Q: Did Rick shoot that Alex guy or just throw him to the ground?

The final line felt a bit of a let down, but I think it was just because when he said "They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out" it felt like he had planted a bloody bomb or something.

Would have been nice to get a bit more info on Terminus/Cannibalism?/Beth/Carol & Tyreese but I suppose they have to leave something open for next season.

Overall I think this season had some serious lulls, but there were dark, real quality episodes inbetween and was solid for the most part. I cant wait for next :)
