Duffy is a real dick whenever it comes to this topic, if I worked in revenue I'd be picking him for 'a random' audit every year.

I thought all long-term-ill people were entitled to a medical card - has that changed?

If they're going to go to the trouble of giving you a (double) transplant, they should surely make sure that you can afford to make the most of your new bits......

Does anyone have any idea what the point of this call is?

Could you imagine if one of the donor's relations rang in and said "You must be the most ungrateful bi-atch I've ever met. Give us the fekn organs back".

If Joe's a socialist, shouldn't he be in favour of taxes? For services?

    ....oh wait.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,994 ✭✭✭An Claidheamh

Joe never asks people to "back up" allegations against the civil service,

    ....but when it's the government.

In fairness, I'd rather give this woman a medical card for her meds as she got an illness and had no control over it, rather than some druggie on methadone, who is ill due to their own stupidity, IMO

Especially a tax on property. But for some reasons Irish Socialists seem to be at the opposite end of the spectrum to their socialist colleagues the world over on this.

    Never were.

Some illnesses get the medication - nothing else - for those covered on the LTI scheme and there are, seperately, discretionary medical cards, but these are and were never universal.

Don't be offended on my behalf missus.

I honestly couldn't give a monkey's toss about the whole thing.

You'd need to drink some amount of that Coors Shoite to qualify it as abuse. Abuse of the beer-drinking sensibility, maybe.

Joe didn't get the avalanche of offended Irish callers he was expecting, so he had to get a fordener on the line to be offended for the rest of us.

This story shows just how much Joe orchestrates the whole thing to cover HIS issues, not what is perturbing the nation..

Guinness and Heineken sponsor rugby Joe.

    Carlsberg football.

    Stop acting so surprised.

Thanks -it's the LTI scheme I was thinking of. Surely a transplant patient would come under that? I'd have thought so anyway.....
