In fairness, I'd rather give this woman a medical card for her meds as she got an illness and had no control over it, rather than some druggie on methadone, who is ill due to their own stupidity, IMO

Especially a tax on property. But for some reasons Irish Socialists seem to be at the opposite end of the spectrum to their socialist colleagues the world over on this.

Never were.

Some illnesses get the medication - nothing else - for those covered on the LTI scheme and there are, seperately, discretionary medical cards, but these are and were never universal.

Thanks -it's the LTI scheme I was thinking of. Surely a transplant patient would come under that? I'd have thought so anyway.....
