I think for the sake of avoiding arguments we should restrict this thread to factual dates on when works have been carried out rather than opinions on whether or not a course is now playable?

I'd say a lot of courses had this booked and are simply going ahead with it but we will have a long dry spell so unless they water I assume they will take longer to absorb the sand and recover...

First 5 or 6 holes in Bray G.C were just forked, the rest are recovering. Would leave it for a couple of weeks.

Played there this morning and not even a mention from the staff that they were done on the first few holes. At least a 'Look it lads , the first few greens have been forked, the rest are not so bad so play away or book another time for a couple of weeks down the road if you want'. At least just mention it.

Should of known something was up anyway when the Pro up there said 'Hello 'to us.

What Bray course did you play yesterday? obviously not the same one I played yesterday, all 18 greens were done weeks ago and have recovered well. There is an issue with parts of the 2nd and 13th greens, but as holes 11,12 & 13 were not in play for the competition yesterday you would not have seen the 13th. The greens are slow yes because they have recently been treated for a disease and they are trying to establish a sward before the growth finishes. I had no problem with the greens yesterday they were not in a "just done" condition. AS for the Pro, you will always get a welcome in Bray.

The new Bray G.C up on Bray head.

Holes 1-5 were freshly forked this morning.

The rest are showing signs that they are recovering. I have played Bray many times and the course does be in immaculate condition as was the fairways today etc.

My issue is that they didn't even mention it about the greens , I understand it's work that has to be done for the good of the course but they could of at least mentioned it before we went out.

That time of year again. My own club Galway bay has had theirs done since St Patrick day and need about another 2 weeks should do to get them back to the great greens they are.

Our greens ( Gowran Park) were done a few weeks back too. There has been little or no kind weather since they were done so growth has been minimal. We need some nice kind weather to promote the growth. Fertiliser was spread a couple of weeks ago too so it's all ready. Hopefully after the stormy weekend we will get some settled weather. I'd say most courses have had the greens done by now. Bunclody's and Carlow's are done a while now.
