Can anyone advise me on a good internet provider other than eircom as i had some terrible experiences with eircom and while i accept probably one is as bad as another, i wondered is there any out there or any hope of a trustworthy provider i think they all have to go through eircom ?i think so anyway if so will it always be this way or is there any way u can get broadband where a company doesnt use eircoms lines? any advice on a half decent provider with reasonably acceptable customer service .Eircoms leaving me on hold then hanging up is extremely headwrecking .
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Hi amkin25

A lot will depend on where in the country you live. If you are in a large town or city then there is UPC with speeds up to 200mb along with phone service. If this is not an option and you do not wish to use a phone line (after your experiences with Eircom - also note most if not all other ISP's use their network) then there is fixed wireless, which consists of an small antenna on your roof/chimney that then feeds to an indoor modem/router. Speeds will depend on supplier, the fastest being Digiweb with their Metro service @ 30mb.

Metro is not available everywhere but check your area on http://www.digiweb.ie
