Yep. It's like a train. First Valentines day then Mothers day, Easter, Father's day. Then they fill the various gaps with exam cards, cards for teachers and once the schools go back in September it's all about flogging stuff for Halloween, in between the increasing toy ads for Christmas. Of course, once we get to November 1st Christmas marketing goes into advertising.

Remember when we were kids and the school Summer holidays seemed like an eternity, now the whole year seems to disappear in a blur. I feel old now:(

Oh God, don't get me even start on Easter bunnies and eggs going on shelves at the same time as Valentine's heart shaped chocolates, Christmas decorations being on sale before Halloween goods etc. Overlapping marketing irritates me so much.

Was in a well-known book shop earlier getting a bday card for Dad and an anniversary one for the OH. Deliberately chose non OTT ones because they are both too old for badges that say "no1" and I dont like mushy "you've always been there for me" poems that go on for 3 pages. So there I am, 2 normal pieces of folded card, free of tat, tinsel, ribbons, badges and 3d effect...and the cashier says, "that will be eleven ninety eight please"

The price of cards is shocking. You're better off making one yourself!!

You must have been in there, reading the nauseating Hallmark inscriptions. :pac:

"Blank: for your own message/to symbolise the awkward silences between you"

Only joking, Dads my best friend. (there's another one lol)

It reminds me of a scene from 500 Days of Summer, when the main character quits his job at the card company while having a speech at the meeting about them all being liars :D

Not sure if you have ever taken them but the come down from some of the pre-workout drinks is horrific! Drink this stuff, feel super for an hour and then by the time you get home your anxiety will be through the roof and you will feel like every last drop of energy has been sucked from your body! Ridiculous amounts of caffeine and whatever else they put in to them!

    What pre-workout drinks?

With Red Bull and coffee, I don't get a come down, or any anxiety or anything like that. Just if I haven't had a coffee within 3 hours of getting up, I get a massive headache. Guess that's a bad addiction sign :o

It's probably the best thing to get. A work colleague of my husband's 16 year old daughter commited suicide at the weekend.

Here's one that i don't even understand myself!

I hate logging on to Boards to see that there is double figures in notifications! This bothers me so much as its ridiculous! I have so many notifications as i follow so many threads that i enjoy reading and posting in and continue to follow more as i see fit... do you see where this is going? I have started unfollowing threads i rarely visit to try keep the number of notifications down but i just follow more in the end anyway!

As soon as it goes past 6 it irritates me! What i usually do is just click the links for the threads to get rid of the notification without reading any new posts and when it get down to a number i am comfortable with i will go back and trawl through the threads in my own time... problem is they usually stack up quick enough again!

And yes I realise this makes me mental

I have a delivery coming, it was in China on Friday, Germany and the UK over the weekend, and it got to Dublin on Sunday evening.

How have I not got it yet?! Surely I should have it today.

    Getting so impatient!

People that walk into a shop and stop just inside the doorway to have a look around, getting in everyone else's way when they try enter or exit the shop as if they now own the doorway. Should be acceptable to squeeze past them turn around and kick them back out the door.

If you're on the touch site, you'll find it on the forum listings page, just after your subbed forums.

If you're on the desktop site, it's on your user profile dropdown.

When the council slap down q mess of tar on the footpath to fill a hole. Its like climbing a mini Everest, the state of it.

Also when they lay down pebbles and sand to fill in a hole and you step on. The stuff is like quick sand.

2 things that really bug me,

Firstly, the way that various channels only make a small number of episodes of a good drama and lots of episodes of crap programmes. Take Silk for example, I love it, yet only about 8 episodes are made per series. I love Ripper Street and thankfully that's been saved from cancellation. So channels want to cancel quality programming because it's too expensive, they cancelled another of my favourites too, Whitechapel, it's was weirdly creepy and different.

Secondly magazines on sale in Ireland that don't accept Irish entries for their competions. If a magazine is on sale in a country then the competitions should be open to anyone who buys the magazine, not just the country in which the magazine is printed.

People on public transport who talk loudly into their mobiles when the calls aren't life or death. Some clown in front of me is doing it right now and arranging his girlfriend's surprise party.

F**king dropping Irish words into the conversation randomly also makes me want to punch him. "Sure if that's the sceal...".
