Organizing a society outing to Wexford for a Saturday mid-October and looking for some advice.
Whats the best option from the following courses :

Seafield, Wexford golf club , Courtown , Rosslare.

Did have a word with Bunclody but they want €40 a head. I don't want to pay that much.

I would think Courtown or Roslare of that list. There are other courses in Wexford Bunclody not bring one which is in Co Carlow. Enniscorthy and New Ross are decent tracks too as is Wexford. Never played Helen's Bay so not sure what its like. I wouldn't rate Seafield there are a couple of good holes but not great imo.

Agree with Yettie. Best bets are Courtown (Photos) and Rosslare (Photos - take during the parched spell last summer). Enniscorthy (Photos) is a friendly country place.

St Helens well worth a visit with two cracking finishing holes!! Course always kept in good nick and renowned for looking after society's with good deals on golf, dinner and even accommodation packages with cottages on site! Only 15mins from Wexford town!

St Helens is (imo) very average indeed, great finish but that really is it.

Courtown for me is the most enjoyable, then Wex and Rosslare followed by Enniscorthy and then a long way behind St HB.

For me, it's Rosslare all the way. Classic old links built on a sandy peninsula like Portmarnock or Royal Dublin, With a classic 9 out, 9 back.

Kevin had it listed as a hidden gem in his recent series, and rightly so

Rosslare too for me, always reminds me of a smaller Portmarnock, not as tough or well presented, but always enjoyable and your always an unlucky bounce away from disaster....

thanks guys, seems like a straight contest between Rosslare and Courtown. I'll make a couple of calls and check prices. Have played St. Helens Bay myself with the worlds largest hangover, and managed the front 9 at 2 over, maybe not the toughest choice for what will be our season finale. 17 & 18 are excellent though.

Incredible colour in the fairways there. Like a desert.

Definitely between Courtown and Rosslare for me, I would lean to Rosslare first though, particularly for a society that maybe hasn't played a links course this year would be a good way to throw a different test in there.

Playing Courtown this Saturday coming. Anybody played here recently? How has the course held up over the beginning of Autumn?
