I can just see all the doormen of Leinster chomping at the bit to get their hands on this contract. :D

Jeez you lot are harsh, it was a typo, there WILL BE NO DRINK, if I was such a sh1t parent I would not be looking for a bouncer to look after every body elses little fvckers[/

So he's agreeing to no drink?lucky there.

    Do you have their daughter?

Sorry but getting a bouncer for a 15 year olds birthday is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. If you as the parent can't keep a lid on it yourself then the party shouldn't be happening.

If 70 people or even more than 30 show up its probably going to end in tears. If things go badly wrong you could be held responsible. Think about the risks you're taking here.

Google event security companies, G4S might, can't name many Dublin ones off the top of my head. Maybe €18 / hour + 23% VAT. They'll normally insist on a minimum of two personnel or 1 per 50 or similar. Alternatively ask a bouncer on the door of a pub if they know anyone looking for a little extra cash, I've done it when in a pinch.

I'll do it for €7 an hour. I have a samurai sword. It's a bit blunt, but they won't know that. I can kick a melon over a wall.

Why does this spring to mind?

I was referring to the fact that your 14 year old has basically told you to go **** yourself when you tried to set some ground rules.

Local Gárda station would be your best bet to keep young drunks clear. No problems after that.

I am thinking about it, but they hang around in massive groups anyway, it will be invite only for his friends that I know.

I am 5 foot and tiny, I certainly could not handle something if they kicked off because they were not allowed in.

It is the teenagers I do not know I am worried about

Then it sounds to me like no party is the best option if you think you can't keep it under control.

Can the kid not just have a few of his closer friends over for a few hours, play video games and eat crap food. That's what we did when I was 16.

Cheers everyone, I suspected it was a mental idea so will re-think it.

And for the record my son has been seriously ill for 2 years and recently had a lung biopsy with the all clear, even being so ill he got 2 A's, 2 C's and the rest B's in his mocks. He is not a spoilt little **** who lays down the rules but a loving, brave well behaved kid.

He deserves a party to make up for the ones he missed and the fact he is now pink not grey.

    Now you tell us.

He deserves a free bar if that's the case.....

My eldest lad threw a house party for his 16th. Invited "12" friends. We left him to it for about 4 hours and went for a meal. Then we came back..

Run OP, run fast - cancel the invites, lock your doors, change the locks, bolt the locks with more locks. And hide your valuables.

The highlight was himself sauntering out and goin "Hi Da, It's going well". As 250 teenagers hopped around like loonies in the house. Happily, no additional bouncers were required as I'm a tad ferocious and a sullen mob drooled out and down the drive. Gaff.was.wrecked. Literally. Being burglarized would have been less destructive.

I will be here with the support of other mothers but the teenagers tower above us, I was thinking a big tall man they would be afraid of plus the fact there were adults around.

I trust my son and his friends, it is the other 230 that arrived at Stavros Murphy's house I am worried about, we are re- negotiating here

You're far better off getting some more of the other parents round to keep an eye on things.

The only bouncers that would be even remotely interested in trying to control a kids' party would be the completely inept or the borderline perverse.

I used to as well. Ohh, the innocence. Mine eyes were opened. Four wheelie bins of empties...riding (jasus, the feckers)...more spliffs than a Led Zepplin concert...holes in the walls(how??Just how??) downstairs flooded where a radiator "fell" off the wall....blood from the fistfights.....and from talking to others, it's a weekly event -they just do it in a different house every weekend. Be warned. :) I can kinda laugh now, but the missus was in tears at the time and I do believe I may have assaulted several teenagers with an empty Pringles tin...

Oh holy god, that's why I agreed to the garden, my son is paying for a portaloo out of his communion money (and that is not a typo)

I was having doubts before but the pringles swung it, I hate pringles and not sure a tayto bag could be a good weapon.
